From the West-End Board:
Gladiator: the musical
As strange as it may sound, Sir Ridley Scott's Oscar-winning film Gladiator is to be turned into a West End musical.
"It's a terrific story which, with the right songs, will be a great show," says an associate of the producer Brian Eastman. William Nicholson, who wrote the film's screenplay, has been working on a storyline for the musical, which will include much of Hans Zimmer's original film score. Sadly Russell Crowe will not be reprising the part of Maximus Decimus Meridius.
The producers want Brian Stokes Mitchell for the part. He may not have Crowe's physique, but he can sing, apparently.

Love that line! Did we have to say 'Apparently'? I'm still laughing!

Well, the story has been previously produced in France. It was one of their Notre Dame de Paris spectacle shows featuring projections and acrobats.

Actually, according to a database where my musicals are listed there is a show called "Holocaust, the Musical". I mean... seriously...
