You mean Lea Michele ISN'T playing herself!?
I think it looks entertaining and fun, I say give it a chance on TV before you determine it's fate.
It's previewing on Tuesday May 19th at 9pm (after American Idol)

but then they won't actually air the series until the fall. Interesting strategy. If it's actually good, it might work with the buzz (and the post Idol audience). But if it doesn't rock it, people will forget about it by fall. It'll need to kill that first night. But I'm excited nonetheless!
I'm watching this for the soul purpose of Pam, Liz's drugged induced Oprah, from 30 Rock.
I'm sure the series won't last, but I will be watching because I love musical shows and some of that cast is awesome (Jane Lynch is a hilarious woman). Not to mention they've already talked about Cheyenne and Kristin Chenoweth coming aboard. With the amount of musical talent now out of work with Eli Stone and Pushing Daisies canceled, I can imagine this show actually being pretty good. But the history of musical shows, complimented by the cancel-happy Fox makes me less than hopeful.

I just watched a new promo for GLEE. I'm not liking it at all.
Glee Promo
I saw the pilot and it was pretty funny. It's basically about an electic group of kids in the school's glee club. The show is really centered around Matthew Morrison who is married and the school's Spanish teacher. He takes over the glee club when the previous teacher leaves (hilarious reason...I won't spoil it). Lea is a high school student who is the lead vocalist. Jane Lynch is the cheerleading coach.

It looks pretty good to me.
I don't understand how this a series. It looks more like a TV movie or just a mini-series.

I think it looks really fun. haha
Every time the commercials come on I'm all "oh HEY Lea Michelle and Matt Morrison!" lol. I just find it amusing to see Broadway people on TV :P
But yeah, it looks like a cute show to me!
I'm looking forward to it. First off, it's Ryan Murphy, who gave us the incredibly brilliant and incredibly underrated Popular. He has a very unique perspective on humor and can always tug at your heart strings at the right moments. Plus, to be blunt, that version of "Don't Stop Believin'" sounds unbelievably kick-ass. That said, I don't know how it will last as a series. What we may end up having is a season or 2 of greatness and then it might fizzle out. I don't see how the concept can last for very long.
If it were a movie or a tv series it might have some substance.
Why not a series...there are 180 days to a school year. And stuff happens. ALL THE FREAKING TIME. I just remarked to a non-teacher friend of mine: If I wrote a script taken directly from the lives of my students at school, NO ONE would ever buy it it's plausibility. You people have NO IDEA the day to day drama. (It's sad really the **** our "kids" go through; and more sad how it's [not really] handled.
And while I will watch this like a train wreck, because of the b'way casting, I think it will be an epic fail. Time will tell.

I say give it a chance. It looks like it could be quite entertaining. I know that they're filming 13 episodes, so they certainly plan on making it a go. Plus, from the brief promos so far, it looks like Morrison is showing his humorous side for a change. Good for him !
