Sensational cast, although memories of the last revival linger fondly for those lucky enough to have seen it. But, hey. it's been almost 20 years so why not? Great project for McKinnon.

Part of me is perfectly intrigued by this cast. The other part wants Duncan and Close to switch or, perhaps better yet, alternate roles.

I wonder if this will be another example like "The Heiress" where one version was so great that the new version will just pale in comparison.
The '96 revival was fantastic. Rosemary Harris, George Grizzard, Elaine Stritch, Mary Beth Hurt, Elizabeth Wilson. It was a perfect production.

The '96 production was absolutely a stunner, but this is a stunning cast, and we know from recent experience that Mackinnon can direct the hell out of Albee. This is the most exciting announcement for next season I've yet seen!

Yeah, but can she keep Glenn Close from chewing the scenery.
And sorry, nobody can play the sister like Elaine Stritch did. Unfortunately that year was a tough year at the Tonys and Stritch didn't get Best Actress. But she deserved it.

I saw the fairly recent revival starring Maggie Smith in London.
You could feel the manic tension rising as Act 1 passed with no sign of the great dame. There was a virtual communal sigh of relief when she came on for the last lines of what had clearly been a baffling act for most people, expecting 'Lettice and Lovage' or some such.

Ha! I think I just fell through a 3 Tall Women time warp!

I also saw Maggie Smith in 3 Tall Women at the Wyndhams- the best of all 3 productions.
Have to confess, Lady from Dubuque was weakest of the 3. Thanks for untangling my garbled memory!
