Definitely "Leap of Faith"

"Godspell" was enjoyable only because of the vocal talent of the cast. When they weren't singing and acting out the parables, it was excruciatingly over-the-top. They used pop culture references at every turn and the attempt at comedy felt SO forced. However, the vocals were pitch-perfect so if you are a die-hard fan of the music, I would suggest seeing it.

"Leap of Faith" was surprisingly enjoyable. It wasn't perfect by any means. You need to suspend disbelief in order to engross yourself in the story, but the music is very enjoyable (much more so then Menken's "Sister Act), the cast is perfect, the plot doesn't drag, and Raul Esparza is a FORCE on that stage. When he preaches, you listen!

I would highly recommend "Leap of Faith" over "Godspell."

If your taste runs to cute small productions, I guess GODSPELL (although it is produced on any high school or college campus with equal or better results). LEAP is big and brassy and has the most uniformly talented cast I've ever seen, to say nothing of "special effects" (won't ruin it for you).

PlayItAgain---

How can you pass judgement on a show you haven't seen? I've only heard awful things about "Ghost" but I will refrain from talking about it until I see it

Its not like he's pretending to have seen it -- he's just passing on information.

I've seen both and I really can't reccommend either one. They both have talented people that sing well, but neither show is exciting or wonderful. I put them on par with each other -- although I find the music of Godspell to be memorable, and couldn't tell you the title of a single song from Leap. (and I saw that less than a week ago.)

Go see Once -- it's beautiful and full of heart. (Not everyone will agree with that.)

"Leap of Faith". Even if it doesn't last, it's always good to see something new. Godspell will be around forever and you will probably see a better production in any community theatre than what's being done now on Broadway.

Godspell if those are your two choices. Unlike others, I have seen both and did not like Leap of Faith at all. Although the music was fun in LOF, the story was terrible (and I was a fan of the movie), there was only about one touching scene, and the ending was on par with Spider-Man. Godspell was cute, funny, and the music was just as entertaining as LOF. I have not seen it since Corbin took over, but the Godspell cast is just as talented.

But, for real, isn't there anything else you haven't seen? Once was amazing!
