RIP, Rue. You will be missed.
So sad...
Rest in peace, sweet lady. You were so talented.
I just saw the Betty White re-run on Ellen yesterday and she was saying how well Rue was doing, and I thought to myself, good, I haven't heard anything about her lately.
She will be missed!

Oh no! She was my favorite Golden Girl! May she rest in peace.

Edit: not to be a downer, but it seems like one GG has died each year. please, please, please don't let Betty White die next year.
I think I'm going to be sick...God bless you Rue!
I'm incredibly upset. Rest in peace, dear lady, and thank you for the laughs!

Yes, there is a God and he has time to worry about things like the appropriate spacing of Gold Girl Deaths.
Very sad. I saw her around 2006 at a Golden Girls DVD signing (along with Bea Arthur and Betty White) at Barnes & Noble in Chelsea. I waited for two hours in the rain just to get a glimpse of her and her castmates through the window (it was too crowded inside) and it was worth every second.
Mimi, I was there too. Amazing.
devastating news! You will be missed, Rue!!!
ShbrtAlley, it was amazing, wasn't it? I was actually on my lunch break during work and I didn't care if I got back to work late because I just had to see these three ladies (I hated that job anyway). Were you inside the store or outside with me and hundreds of other screaming fans donning umbrellas and jumping up and down?
I was originally inside but we had gotten there too late to get on line, so we quickly moved outside to the window literally inches away from them. There were dozens of gay men all around shrieking their names, and my friend and I were amused when a middle-aged woman in front of us turned and said, "Why didn't all these nice young men bring their wives?"
Also, there was a woman in there who obviously had something wrong with her. She tried to climb up on the stage and security grabbed her, but Betty, Bea, and Rue all yelled at them to stop, apologized to the woman, and took pictures with her. I remember Bea was particularly forceful about it.
I am so sad about Rue.
Tragic. She will be missed.
RIP.
Shbrt, cute stories. I was one of the only females at the window (although I was not that middle-aged woman!) Umbrellas were stabbing me in the eye, but I didn't care. I got to see my Girls!
I thought that Rue looked very old and frail that day. I was shocked when I first saw how she looked.

Oh my! I said the exact same thing to my mom 30 minutes ago! And its always happened around spring/summer time.
This makes me really sad. Such a short life. She will definatly be missed by me and fans like me. Rest in Peace Rue, and thank you for everything.

I am beyond words. Dear, sweet funny lady, may you RIP. Thank you for all of the classic GG moments...like, "isn't Danny Thomas one?."
Celebrity deaths don't usually bother me, but this is so upsetting. Rest in peace, beautiful lady. Journey on.
