Send in the Clowns
i have to agree with "this is the moment" from jekyll and hyde
Bridge over Troubled Water - gospel version...yum!!
If you're going to do something from JEKYL AND HYDE, what about "Letting Go."

OUR TIME
from Merrily We Roll Along

Epiphany from Sweeney Todd would be an excellent graduation song.
-It's sarcasm, stupid.
I am on the floor, sumofallthings. "you kill me. i love you." anyone who knows what movie that's from gets bragging rights....any takers?
-d.b.j-

FOR GOOD from Wicked
WE'RE GONNA MAKE IT AFTER ALL from Leader of the Pack- absolutley beautiful and the most approprieate grad song I can think of!
Hear My Song from Songs for A New World
Bring on Tommorow from Fame (come on, it takes place at a graduation)
I Sing the Body Electric from the movie Fame (their grad song)
This is the Moment from Jekyll and Hyde
I Will Never Leave You from SideShow
I Have A Dream from Mamma Mia. Or Thank You For The Music (I sang that at my graduating concert)
Somewhere Over the Rainbow (cheeeeeeese but it's sweet)
Louder than Words from Tick Tick Boom
not broadway, but what about the beatles maxwell silver hammer?
Back in school again Maxwell plays the fool again
Teacher gets annoyed
Wishing to avoid an unpleasant scene-e-e-ene
She tells Max to stay when the class has gone away
So he waits behind
Writing fifty times "I must not be so-o-o-o
But when she turns her back on the boy
He creeps up from behind
Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer
came down upon her head
Clang! Clang! Maxwell's silver hammer
made sure that she was dead
P.C. thirty one said "we've caught a dirty one"
Maxwell stands alone
Painting testimonial pictures, oh, oh, oh, oh
Rose and Valerie screaming from the gallery
Say he must go free ("Maxwell must go free!")
The judge does not agree, and he tells them so-o-o-o
But, as the words are leaving his lips
A noise comes from behind
Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer
came down upon his head
Clang! Clang! Maxwell's silver hammer
made sure that he was dead
er... that third eye blind one "graduate" works too

We actually did OUR TIME at our graduation in 2005.
Here are some other good suggestions:
Bring On Tomorrow (Fame - the musical)
The Hills of Tomorrow (Merrily We Roll Along)
I Sing the Body Electric (Fame - the movie)
I Have a Dream (Mamma Mia)
Thank You For The Music (Mamma Mia)
Slipping Through My Fingers (Mamma Mia) -- okay, more of a mother/daughter song, but still very sentimental
Easy Terms (Blood Brothers)
Climb Ev'ry Mountain (Sound of Music)
Seasons Of Love (Rent)
Louder Than Words (Tick Tick Boom)
Love Heals (Jonathan Larson)
Hear My Song (SFANW)
You'll Be In My Heart (Tarzan)
A Tough Act To Follow (Curtains)
As We Stumble Along (The Drowsy Chaperone)
There are so many good ones...
but probably the best songs to use in graduation are those by Marvin Hamlisch
The Way We Were (The Way We Were)
What I Did For Love (A Chorus Line)
and my favorite:
In Our Hands (Smile)
Broadway Legend Joined: 5/11/04
We Go Together from Grease
Big Man In Town from Jersey Boys(especially the lyric, I'm gonna make it, just wait and see and the lyric, You'll be proud of me)
As We Stumble Along from The Drowsy Chaperone
Follow That Dream from All Shook Up
Find Your Grail from SpamAlot
Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life from SpamAlot
Dirty Rotten Number from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
I remember that we did the four-part harmony version for "For Good" (I was one of the soloists). Ah, memories . . . But for other senior-type functions we did "Sunday" from Sunday in the . . .
Maybe As We Stumble Along? :-P
I like For Good, that's a good suggestion.
That's quite a bump Josh.
'Changing' from Dreamgirls
'You are the New Day' by John David (King's Singers arrangement)

I can't believe no one has mentioned "A KID INSIDE" from IS THERE LIFE AFTER HIGHSCHOOL? We did it my senior year of highschool and then I managed to do it again in college. The song is beautiful and uber perfect for graduation. BArry Manilow did a cover of it too. Here's a taste of the lyrics...
There's a kid inside,
and I have him with me always.
There's a kid inside,
Walking down old high school hallways.
There's a kid inside,
At a desk, at a dance, in the halls, in the showers.
There's a kid inside to this very day.
And he makes a try for that high pop fly,
That I fumbled one September.
And he makes a fuss over some A plus,
That I shouldn't still remember.
And he goes along,
Getting hurt, getting mad, fighting fights that are over.
And unless I'm strong,
All my senses are carried away.
I can feel my hand, my trembling hand,
On Michelle's angora sweater.
I can hear my band, that awful band,
Only now it sounds much better.
I can see the kid, the kid I use to be,
On the stage, on the field, on the lunch line.
finally, someone said DIRTY ROTTEN NUMBER from DRS. Cause that would be my first choice.
