We did our time one year and everyone (myself included) hated it.
We did The New World the next and everyone loved it a lot.
And then my senior year we did For Good. And we had everyone in tears.
Just from personal experience.

If you want your graduation song to be kinda silly, "I Won't Grow Up" from Peter Pan will work like a charm. But if you want it to be a moving song, go with "Changing" or... "Seasons of Love"?? Don't call me stupid, I just LUV that song.

Totally serious...at my graduation from the UCLA theater department, some students changed a couple lyrics from Avenue Q and sang "What do you do with a BA in theater?"
It was a hit!

Sang this at our graduation:
And friends are friends forever
If the Lord's the Lord of them
And a friend will not say "never"
'Cause the welcome will not end
Though it's hard to let you go
In the Father's hands we know
That a lifetime's not too long to live as friends.
Anyone know where it's from? Can't even remember the title of the song.

'Cause the welcome will not end

I don't know if anyone has mentioned "Bring on Tomorrow" from Fame.
I should know what I said...

For Good
Q:What advice do you have for aspiring Broadway stars who are terminally shy? I love your work, because you seem so bold. How do you do it?
A:"I think I take more chances on stage then I do in real life but you can't learn anything if you don't challenge yourself. And don't say "terminally". If you love to perform then you have no choice, just keep training and focus on the words or the music whenever you find yourself slipping back inside yourself. You're not doing anyone any favors if you withhold your talents from the world"- Idina Menzel
