Posted: 1/9/04 at 12:21amThe beginning of Millie...when the curtain goes up and you just see this small town girl with a suitcase in awe of the city. I LOVE the way we first meet Millie. Updated On: 1/9/04 at 12:21 AM

Two that stick in my head are:
Sunset Blvd - "You there! Why are you so late?" Norma's decent from the stairs
Dance of the Vampires - "God has left the building" Count Von Krolock's coffin rising from the grave

Posted: 1/9/04 at 9:37amI like the 42nd Street entrance just seeing everyone's feet as the curtain rises. I also like Amneris' entrance in Aida because she is already onstage when she enters. One of my friends was totally surprised that she was onstage the whole time and she didn't know. Those are the two best entrances I can think of.

I thought that Caldwell B. Cladwell has a good "star" entrance with a brief pause for audience approval. The chair spin thing.
Maybe that's just the way Shaugnessy was playing it. I didn't get to see the full original cast.

My fav Broadway entrance is probably the Hirschfeld--such a nice lobby with that lovely staircase... =)
Also, I'm sure that there are some chorus boys who have (I better stop here).
Ok Ok--seriously now--my fav is prob Velma in Chicago.

Posted: 1/9/04 at 4:54pmVelma's entrance in the original production of Chicago, where Chita (and later Lenore Nemiez) just stood motionless and stared down the audience during the "All That Jazz" vamp. Then, when everyone was sufficiently intimidated, she sang the first chorus remaining still and just staring into the crowd.

Posted: 1/9/04 at 5:09pmMillie's entrance in Thoroughly Modern Millie, when she turns around I got shivers so bad. Same happened for the opening of Witches of Eastwick, which started identically with a girl turning around and singing before the stage bursts into life.

Posted: 1/9/04 at 5:33pmYes!! Maureen on a motorcycle is definately #1! Like, the audience suddenly gets blinded then u see Maureen stepping from the back of thes tage and you hear "Joanne which way to the stage?" and the rest of the cast pipes in, "SHOW!"- it's definately memorable.

Posted: 1/9/04 at 8:10pmI LOVE Carla's entrance in Nine... Ill try to think of more though.

Posted: 1/9/04 at 8:16pmI remember Eartha Kitt's entrance in Timbuktu! After a huge procession which seemed to go for days she arrives on stage standing on the shoulder (barefoot) of a semi clad muscleman and announces "I am here!". That certainly made an impression on me.

Posted: 1/9/04 at 9:55pmI would have to say either Harvey in Hairspray, or Angel's drag entrance in Rent.
