I prefer the Original London Cast Recording, but the OBC is worth getting. A Little Night Music is probably my second favorite Sondheim score (after Sweeney Todd).

Between the changing 1st person narratives to the bland ending, it's poorly written and confusing to follow. I saw this production of Hello, Dolly! and I enjoyed it, even though I agree that at some points during the show she looked like she was going to tip over, especially in the red dress. Not having seen other productions of the show, I can't compare. There was also an opening night TV special about this production (whiched aired on WWOR, the predecessor to UPN) hosted by Pat Collins, which was entertaining to watch.
