Can someone point out where I have said I hated anything or anyone?
I am sorry you don't like the fact I think the Gypsy marketing is poor and the revival is unnecessary. That is not "hate."
The marketing is garbage, and if you think otherwise you need to go to school and major in marketing and visual arts. If you think 52% is a great first week for a show that is very well known and "at last" starring Broadway legend Patti, may you never run a theatre and make business decisions.
The revival is unnecessary even though I love the show & Lupone.
Well I don't live in NEw York City and I cannot wait to go up and see it. I am going to see it when i go in April. So there is ONE person who will buy tickets.
Flaunt. How is making a graphic of Patti LuPone hanging herself an expression of your dislike for the marketing of the show? You have made some very vile comments against LuPone. But I'm sure she could care less, lol.

Doll she is flying out with the ROSE sign. Poking fun at the new ending of the show.
If you see her hanging herself that says more about you.

Is that one for each person who saw Gypsy last week?

I don't think a shows attendance in previews should be judged as to how long it will run. Plenty of shows that have become a success, were doing poor in previews. After the reviews come out, is when you can be more certain on how long a show will run, judging by the attendance records. For example, during previews Jersey Boys and Spring Awakening had very poor attendance. After good reviews came out, the shows attendance went up.

It is GYPSY... a known property... you can not compare it to a new show that is not known and needs to find its audience. You either got it.. or you ain't.

1. there is a recession
2. there was a revival a few years ago
3. Patti LuPone is not a star
If you want a GYPSY revival to work today you need an A-list star. Period. No argument.
Who cares if Patti isn't an "A-list" star? The woman got raves at City Center and someone wanted to put up the money to mount it on Broadway, so why is everyone bitching?
And show me an A-list star who can sing this score eight times a week.
My God, Flaunt It, piss off.

I usually see evry musical each year, revivals included. And I even love Patti. Even with the disounts...I AM SO GYPSIED OUT, I just can not get interested. Tape it for PBS...show America. Perhaps it'll run a few months. I feel as though I just saw it...and since the the forbidden is floating around like crazy...why bother? Just, sorry...
.
Try buying seats for this Saturday and you'll be able to buy almost any seat in the house! Centre aisle seats available in Orchestra from row G and row C in the Front Mezz! Not good! ....who expected this to do any different!
It is on TDF right now with a few dates
Not a good sign. It may not run as long as the Peters version.
