Gypsy was never a limited run, they just opened up a new block of tickets.
Patti is there until March.
And yeah... this was never a limited run.
Patti's website has her listed through the end of February and then she starts some concert dates.

Thanks for the tip-off, Princeton. Anyone else just snag some awesome closing show tickets? Holla!
wait, I'm actually legit confused. Patti said in that video on the NY Post website awhile ago that she's leaving March 3rd. so...is that closing night, or is it March 1st or February 28th?

In the past, she has said March 3 because thats a year from when her contract started, but March 3 is a Tuesday in '09. And the calendar on her website has always said Gypsy until Feb 28th. I imagine they're just sort of rounding off.
I got row A too!
My friend and I have both asked Patti on separate occasions to confirm her last day in the show, and she responded saying that Sunday, MARCH 1ST is her OFFICIAL closing date.

Yeah, I was wondering why people thought her last day wouldn't be Sunday the 1st...

Ive never paid attention to the way ticket blocks come up for sale, or the way shows close. Is it likely that they'd have the last show on a Sunday? Will there eventually be time on telecharge where just March 1st becomes available, or would they have tacked it onto the February block?
Sundays are common closing nights b/c it's the end of a work week for most shows.

You may have bought tickets to her second to last show. They may be holding back ticket sales for March 1st which will be the last perfomance of that week. Or maybe they are ending on a Saturday night which doesn't make sense since they play a Tuesday-Sunday schedule

yeah that makes total sense, and everything thats closing right now is closing on Sundays.
everyone stay alert for when March 1st comes out!
Seems strange that they would not have just put it on sale until March 1st instead of February 28th.

March 1st tickets are on telecharge now.
Per La LuPone from late July 2008:
I've got six months and six weeks left on my contract. I have a fire door in my dressing room that has a prison countdown on it. It's quite colorful and fun to look at. The reason I know how many days I have left is because I am reeling from unbelievable exhaustion. I know that if I get to the top of the summit, which is the six month mark, then I'm home free. I can start coming back down off the mountain. But, what do I do after Madame Rose?
^ Don't even joke about that!

Penelope Pennywise in Urinetown revival plz?
go on a concert tour with Mandy Patinkin and then write her memoirs?
She doesn't strike me as the type of actress to do anything different on her last performance in a show.
well I'm gonna guess its not just her last show, but the final performance as well so it should be amazing!

Is there any truth to the rumor that Patti LuPone will be replaced by Idina Menzel?
Oh great, Dollypop, now I'm going to have nightmares...
