You're a ****ing idiot. I make a comment on a Broadway peformer, fair game, and you insult my DEAD Mother.
Makes a lot of sense...
You know she called all message baord users "Losers with No Lives".
I think that would apply to you and your doodles.

Calling a bunch of anonymous people "losers with no lives" who have viciously and publicly humiliated her is completely understandable.
It's obvious that you have no respect for her as a human being since you just called her "fair game." Is it that difficult to comprehend how she might feel?

Oh please!
How she might feel? She's a performer in the public eye. She's fair freaking game. If she hasn't developed a backbone yet, that's her deal, not mine.

Backbone or not, I don't blame her for what she said. Some nasty things HAVE been said about her, and I would say the same thing if I were here. She may be a performer in the public eye, but that doesn't mean that she should expect respect from people.
And Bobby, MUST we bring out the Benanti attendance jokes again? They're so tired now. Give it a rest.

Posted: 2/22/08 at 5:57pmAs I said, you have no respect for her as a human being, which she IS. And why is SHE "fair freaking game" (a lovely expression) but the rest of us human beings are not? Because YOU happen to be one of the people she thinks is a loser? Where's YOUR backbone? Or are YOU not a human being?

Well she said it about EVERYONE on this board, not just the ones who point out the truth on her performance.
I don't have respect for her work ethic. Period. Her Father has the same ethic. I have no opinion of her as a "human being" because I don't know her. Benanti just can't stand it when people point out her attendance record. If she has true medical problems, she shouldn't commit to projects she cannot attend on a regular basis.

All I said was: I wonder how many performances she'll miss...
You all put this hidden meaning in, not me.

Hey, I'll admit I'm a loser with no life. I sped so much time on here it is a little embarrassing

Back to topic, I'm excited about this!
And I think it's interesting they are attempting to make this the most complete recording on the market. We were talking about how many recordings are already on the market, and that this production may not be recorded because of it. So, to make this The Complete Recording as to distinguish it from the rest of the pack is certianly a smart marketing idea.
That said, I wonder if the rumoured bidding war did happen. And if so, it would be before Time-Life chose to make so comprehensive a recording. So, then would it be because this is Lupone singing GYPSY? I would imagine a theatregoer not belonging to neither the LuPone-hater or Lupone-lover groups would buy this recording over perhaps an recent ones, excluding the famous original. But how many people want a GYPSY recording and don't have one?

Posted: 2/22/08 at 6:28pmgranted, i dont know benanti personally at all. i dont know her as an actual person. BUT i don't get why/how people stay on her case about "missing" in into the woods she had a spinal injury and in the wedding singer she missed a few weeks for a serious vocal problem. i want to see people who slam her do a show with an injured spinal chord or whatever. just because carol channing did "hello, dolly" in a cast does not mean every single actor should.

I just think she shouldn't take on roles that she cannot fully commit to. I know she tries, but this happened with Swing, Into the Woods, she dropped out of Violet Hour, she missed most of her Wedding Singer dates, and the list goes on...
I would rather see a performer who can do the full 8 shows a week.
I know it sucks to have a work injury, and I do hope Benanti's health problems have improved. I just wish she would show up for this one.

Posted: 2/22/08 at 6:49pmI don't have a Gypsy recording yet, but I'll probably pick this one up. I prefer more contemporary recordings for their sound-quality, and I like Lupone over Peters.

"most of her wedding singer dates??" didn't she only miss a few weeks out of 9 months? i never heard of her being out on a weekly basis like donna murphy in "wonderful town" (again another dr ordered medical leave).
i'm not saying she WILL 100% show up this time around, but if she gives 85% of the performance she gave at city center i'll let her miss a couple of times. haha

Posted: 2/22/08 at 7:01pmI don't understand why someone who hates her so much would "wish that she would show up." When I dislike a performer, I'm happy when they miss the performance I'm at.
