Just in case this is of interest to anyone here, my charity, Dressed (searchable on Facebook as Dressed15501) is raffling off two Hamilton tickets for the January 12, 2019 matinee in Pittsburgh. I saw the show twice over it's Buffalo run, and I just need to take a second and state how absolutely incredible Hannah Cruz and Austin Scott are. I had seen the original cast and thought it would be let down, but they were sensational as Eliza & Hamilton. Happy to see this level of talent on the tour.

Jon Viktor Corpuz also just joined in Buffalo as Laurents/Phillip and he is another great addition.

Here’s an article from the Tulsa Wold about these spec sites selling “tickets” at astronomical prices before they’ve even gone on sale to the general public.

Man I could not agree more with those 2, and I'll add Nicholas Christopher to the mix as well. That tour is probably the strongest tour I've seen in terms of talent, ever haha. My entire family agreed they were better than Broadway, of course with no disrespect to them. But ya, this tour is incredible and if it will be your first time experiencing Hamilton with this cast, you're in for a treat

I’m 27 days away from seeing the Angelica Cast in Pittsburgh and the above comments are very exciting. I saw the Philip Cast back in July when the tour passed through Cleveland and loved Joseph Morales as the lead.

Of course I’ll have to break out the credit card again for more souvenirs, especially another window card as the one for Cleveland was specific to the venue with its name across the bottom.

So, I just bought my first and probably only ticket to Hamilton for the Orlando tour.  Tickets were unavailable to buy for weeks and finally opened up to purchase a week or two ago.  The pricing was a little high for me, but I still sent a pm to Adam Greer, making him aware of it, since he lives in Orlando.  The ticketing only stayed open for a day.  Tonight I checked it and it was reopened with alot more availability especially for some performances.  The ticket prices were $176.50, $249.50, $279.50 and $549.50 plus fees. All of the prices were the most I would have paid for a Broadway show, much less a concert.  I opted for the $176.50 price which was for much of the balcony.  I ended up getting the fourth row , center of the balcony.  One row behind the $249.50 price point.  With fees the ticket cost $206.  So my question to all the fans who have seen this and sat in all different places, is this a half way decent seat for the price? I have sat way higher in this theater and thought the view was good, but I also only paid $50.  Obviously, I could have sat closer, but didn't want to pay the high price.  This is also coming to my city in 2020 and I may have gotten a better priced seat, but I think the quality of the tours that go to Orlando, are so much better.  Thoughts? or Disses?

When I saw “Hamilton” in Cleveland at the State Theater back in July I paid $166.25 for a Mezzanine Center Row H. To put this into perspective: the first three rows there of the balcony (A-C) are actually called Loge, are corporate box seating (I believe), and the rows are spaced much further apart than normal. The Mezannine seats, just after the aisle that separates the Loge from the Mezzanine, start with Row D. Row H where I was, five rows back in this part, was almost too far away for my tastes. I wish I had brought binoculars.

I’m seeing the show again two weeks from today, this time at the Benedum Center in Pittsburgh. I have a Right Center Mezzanine Row E just on the Center aisle, costing $134.56 (it’s part of my season ticket package). At the Benedum Center the balcony has a Director’s Circle of five normally spaced rows (AA-EE), then a walkway, then the First Tier rows next, starting with Row A. I’m in Row E. I went up and scoped out that seat and the view when I was attending “Fiddler on the Roof”. It seemed fine. However, I’m taking binoculars this time.

Ive only seen Hamilton on Broadway (my first time in 2015) and in Chicago (2x). Both times in Chicago, Ive sat in the orchestra, but I sat in the last row of the rear mezz (via an obscenely marked up ticket via hotel concierge) when I saw it on Broadway. It should tell you something about the power of the performances and the musical itself that despite almost zero legroom, almost constant knee pain, and being so far from the stage that my love affair with Hamilton started then. Sounds like youll be much closer and have better legroom. I do agree that you should bring your binoculars. Youre in for a true treat. Enjoy!

Thanks for the responses.  Since Orlando is a road trip for me and this is a Saturday night performance, I'm kind of making it an abbreviated weekend mini vacation.  Add that I will probably spend the night at the "naughty" hotel in Orlando, so I'm looking to have an overall good time.

Since Pittsburgh is basically a road trip for me every time I go up there (110 miles and 1hr45min, one-way), when seeing “Hamilton” on Jan. 6th I may do the same - overnight at a hotel - depending on the weather. If that happens, I may buy one of the cheap seat tickets and see the show twice while I’m up there. I hear the Philip Tour is quite good.

Artman: one thing that just dawned upon me is that you’re seeing the Philip Cast, the same group I saw in Cleveland back in July. The group I’m seeing on Jan. 6th is the Angelica Cast. After you’ve seen the show (what date are you going?) don’t forget to come back and give us your review. I really liked Joseph Morales as Alexander Hamilton, Ta’Rea Campbell as Angelica Schuyler, and Shoba Narayan as Eliza.

dmwnc1959, I am seeing Hamilton on February 2.  Just out of interest, I entered the lottery for Ft Lauderdale over the weekend and of course lost.  But I wanted to at least participate once.  I see the non equity Something Rotten tour on January 6.  Unless I see a tour production, that will be all my theater for 2019.  Skipping a trip to NYC for 2019.

^ ^ ^  I plan on entering the “Hamilton” lottery every single day that it’s in Pittsburgh. Same for when it goes to Columbus, OH after leaving Pittsburgh. That’ll give me about seven weeks of chances.

I also downloaded the “Hamilton” app a while back and have been playing the trivia game every morning before my day really gets started. It’s actually kind of fun.

After “Hamilton” I have the National Tours of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, “Come From Away”, and “Dear Evan Hansen”, none of which I’ve seen before. Then I’ll have two shows produced by the Pittsburgh CLO: “Once” and “Oklahoma”. After that, the National Tour of “Hello, Dolly!”, again, for the third time. That takes me up to mid-August.

I’m for sure renewing my season tickets for Pittsburgh, so whatever is officially announced in March will take me through the latter part of 2019.

Plus, I’m still planing a desperate attempt at a quick trip to NYC in July to see either “Moulin Rouge” or Beetlejuice”, but I’ll probably be skipping it for a road trip that’s “non-theater”.

I'll be seeing the Philip cast of Hamilton on January 4th in Fort Lauderdale! Super excited, it was such a process to get the tickets - I went through the ticketmaster verification and everything and was luckily given a time slot to buy my tickets but I was plagued with technical difficulties and I tried 4 different show dates that were sold out before finally getting Friday, January 4th!

Came out to $119 per ticket for third row Balcony, which is pushing it for Broward Center since they have both a Mezzanine and a Balcony and front Balcony is usually around $50-60 per ticket. But I was DETERMINED haha. Can't wait!

You did really good for your Hamilton ticket, since I paid about $80 more for Orlando.  I have sat in the balcony at Broward and have not experienced the tickets to be that cheap, at least for concerts.  Have fun.

WhiJo Bloom: like it’s mentioned before, take binoculars. Even if it’s a small pair but with decent magnification, it’ll be better than nothing. I hope you enjoy the Philip Cast, and do come back and let us know your thoughts on the show. I’m very excited to see the show again myself, and hope to at least see it twice while it’s in Pittsburgh. Yeah definitely, I’ve sat in the Balcony at Broward Center a bunch of times since I see most of the Broadway national tours that pass through here, but I might bring binoculars since it’ll probably be my only time at Hamilton anytime soon hahaha. 

I just thought the pricing distribution was interesting, especially since they didn’t publish the ticket prices beforehand, they were only shown once you got through the actual ticketing page through your Ticketmaster slot time, so I kind of just had to scoop up whatever came out. I’m glad they went through the precautions but given the technical difficulties we had I wish it could’ve been smoother. Sounds like their method in Pittsburgh is a lot more straightforward!

When Phantom of the Opera came in October, I paid $65 (including tax) per ticket for almost the same exact seat but one row in front (Balcony Row B). The rear balcony is usually pretty cheap for shows, around $40, though sightlines can be tough since the top of the stage can get cut off, but still doable. And my ticket to Audra McDonald’s concert in June there was $30 for a Mezzanine seat haha. 

Obviously the ticket price increase isn’t surprising since it’s Hamilton, I just don’t think I’ve ever paid that much for a show at Broward. No doubt they’ll do the same thing to prices when Hamilton comes down here to Miami and for Lion King which they’re already selling for its stint in May here at the Adrienne Arscht Center. 

I’ll definitely come back and post my thoughts! Should be an awesome experience nonetheless, and I’m excited to see how the Philip cast makes it they’re own!

A souvenir cup would be very cool. Something to add to my little “Hamilton” collection from when I saw the show in Cleveland back in July. I’m a week from Sunday seeing the show. Very excited. Off work until next Wednesday so this time will pass by quickly.

Saw the Philip cast last night. This makes my 4th time- twice with the OBC. Ta'rea Campbell (Angelica) was absolutely fantastic, as was Nyla Sostre (Peggy/Mariah Reynolds). Sadly I have to say that Marcus Choi was not a strong Washington at all. He was the only disappointment. He just doesn't have the vocals to pull off the role. The best Washington I've seen was Nicholas Christopher in NY. He blew the doors off the theater during One Last Time. Also, poor diction on the part of Kyle Scatliffe made it difficult to understand his lines when he was Lafayette. He was better in Act 2 as Jefferson. Joseph Morales is about as close to LMM I think they'll ever get. I hope the company managers really understand the importance of annunciation by the actors- if you're not familiar with the lyrics it can make it difficult to get everything they're saying if their diction is not perfect. It's not the first time I've noticed diction issues when the actors have been in the role a long time. The OBC was pretty tired by the time I'd seen them for the 2nd time and Okieriete Onaodowan was almost unintelligible half the time. A marked difference from the first time I'd seen him. Now I always suggest to anyone seeing the show to familiarize yourself with the soundtrack ahead of time if you haven't already, so you don't miss a word.
