Why is it still running?

re: HOT FEET !

Because Rashad is pumping money into it by seeing it every damn day.

re: HOT FEET !

Oh just let the show run its course.

Despite the constantly pointed to critical flaws, the attending audiences seem to enjoy it, so why not let them. Must a fly always land in the ointment?

I would welcome seeing Serpentine Fire and the Hot Feet Ballet again.

re: HOT FEET !

How is Rashad involved with this show? Interesting...

re: HOT FEET !

when i saw the Broadway Beat with Rashad talking about the show i could see this trepidation in her face like she was scared to praise it too much. hahaha

someone with her talent has to know it's a bunch of hog wash. unless she's much like the poor people who are working on the show, just happy to have work and are blinded by the glazed rose coloured glasses that the producers have shelled into them. "you know...it's not as bad as i THOUGHT!" hahaha

keep foolin' yourselves honey

re: HOT FEET !

I actually liked Vivian Nixon, she can really dance! the show was not a show i can say i liked though.

re: HOT FEET !

not seen the show yet but as a dancer i would be intrested to

just got to say im amazed at how much american audiences seem to listen to the critics and have it determin if the show runs or not IM SO GLAD WE DONT HAVE THAT PROBLEM IN THE UK .People really should judge for themselves(and im pretty sure that a lot of people on this board havent seen all the shows they comment on there just going of word of mouth). If you wanna see hot feet (to the people who said they wanna go)go for it remember critics arent always right....lol

ENJOY THE SHOW

re: HOT FEET !

I couldn't agree MORE with West End, GO SEE THE SHOW, forget what those critics
say, they have TOO much power anyway ! It is UP TO US, we are buying the tickets.
We as the public have more power than we think, they have ruined far too many shows that deserved a chance, Enjoy the show and MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND !

Let us know !

re: HOT FEET !

I actually work at the hilton and the audience reaction to the show is surprisingly really good most of the time, and lots of people tell the ushers this is their 2nd, 3rd, 4th time. IMO its an ok show not the worst thing ive ever seen(I.E In my life, Lestat)but mildly entertaining but with good music

re: HOT FEET !

Although I kinda hated this show! Everyone should do what they feel like doing and ignore the critics.

re: HOT FEET !

It seems like ALL they have is repeat customers! Seeing as it's running at 30% occupancy

re: HOT FEET !

OK guilty as charged, I've seen it 3x.

re: HOT FEET !

hehe. It's great that the show has such dedicated fans! If only other short lived shows, had the repeat fan base as Hot Feet does. Maybe Caroline, or Change would still be playing! re: HOT FEET !

re: HOT FEET !

I saw the show tonight. First, I have to say the dancers were breathtaking in every sense of the word. These were not CHORUS BOYS. THEY ARE MEN. They made me sweat. Actually, I am still sweating.
The dancers are all outstanding. From the little girl to every single dancer in the show. The problem is the HORRID BOOK.
If they just took out the Red shoes meets the Wiz, meets every cheesy dance movie like Stayin Alive, it could work.
THE STORY IS SO BAD, IT WAS EMBARRASSING. PEOPLE WERE LAUGHING.
I COULD NOT STOP STARING! But, the music of Earth Wind and Fire is very strong. The dancers don't miss a step. If they removed the book and had the dancers dance to the fantastic music it would be a much more bearable show.
I have to tell you, the dancers especially the two lead male dancers took my breath away.
STEAM HEAT!
I can just see an FB version called HOT MEAT. OMG.
The FB number Hot Meat really could be the best thing since the Piazza number. I will quote one of Gerard's favorites.
I WISH!

re: HOT FEET !

I just saaw the show this week & I really don't understand how it made it on Broadway. Aside from the book, the costumes & off-stage singing were enough to make me want to run out of the theatre screaming! I don't want to totally bash the show (especially with so many fans on this board, sorry if I offended you*); but PM me if you want details.

On a positive note I will say this: the energy put out by all those dancers is really something special. If nothing else... seriously, nothing else, go see them (and the actor who playes Satan, he's great*)

re: HOT FEET !

One more thing.
The sadest thing about this is it really could have worked if they spent less time on a stupid book. How many devil soul stories do people want to see.
I wish they would change the show because it would be a shame for so many talented dancers to lose their jobs.
The band of Earth Wind and Fire perform at the end. If they just got on stage and had the dancers dance in front of them you would have another hit like Movin Out.
I am still sweating thinking about the dancer in white pants.

re: HOT FEET !
People went to the show because they love the music of Maurice Hines and Earth Wind and Fire. If Maurice sang a few songs and the dancers danced it would be a sure fire hit.
But the Devil wears Prada, can we say BORING.
When Earth Wind and Fire perform at the end the audience went crazy. Just imagine if he sung 2-3 songs.
Remove the devil.
If they don't have the stamina to sing 8 times a week find someone who sounds like them and have them sing. It would be so much better.
The story is a joke. It was like a train wreck, you just can't look away.
