Keep trying! Maybe someone else has them in their shopping cart temporarily and will release them.

I returned to Hadestown for a second viewing this past Saturday and loved it as much the second time. It is more polished than when I saw it a mere few runs into the performance. The actors are well into their roles. Three of them (Nabiyah Be, Patrick Page and Amber Gray) were so deep into their characters (Eurydice, Hades and Persephone) that tears were rolling down their cheeks during their scenes! It was as magical for me this return visit. Might as well enjoy it while it is here through July 31...I'm going back a third time on July 19th. There is a wonderful YouTube clip (commercial) to view if that might sway you to get your ticket. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhKJz1dVrJ4

Probably thanks to this past weekend's being a holiday weekend with many people out of town, a couple of family members and I were able to rush the Saturday matinee. The folk opera/New Orleans jazz-inflected music and performances meld perfectly.. The cast was excellent; I especially enjoyed Chris Sullivan and Patrick Page, the latter's booming voice making for a very seductive king of Hades. Really glad I was able to catch this show before it finishes at month's end. The poster on the outside wall of the theater advertising the upcoming season heralds another likely sold-out show: OTHELLO with David Oyelowo and Daniel Craig.
Saw this last night and pretty much loved it. It's one of my favorite new musicals in a long time. The cast is uniformly excellent (it's one of the best sung productions I've seen in a long time), and the staging and score are incredible. I would love to see this transfer to the Circle in the Square in the spring.
Going this weekend. Very excited!
Saw this yesterday and loved it! How was this the same space I saw Lazarus in?
I had the pleasure of seeing this this afternoon, and had one of those rare, "THIS is why I love theatre" experiences. To see artists taking leaps with creativity on stage, actors fully immersing and living in their world 100%, and audiences pulled in the entire time was absolutely beautiful.
With In-Transit taking Circle, I'm doubtful of Hadestown's transfer prospects. Who can we call to get them a tent on 45th street?

Any other updates about the rush experience?
Saw the show last night and just had to echo what everyone else has been saying. Such an inventive and exciting evening at the theatre.

Answering my own question. Rushed this morning. 10:30 am. Third in line. 26 people by the time the box office opened. Some people were together so I don't know how many tickets were actually purchased. All things considered it's not a bad wait for a great ticket price though it is really hot outside.
Loved it! I'm kind of predisposed to love it. I love Greek and Roman mythology, so I knew this would be in my wheelhouse. Great music. Just a fabulous night at the theater. Looks like I'll be giving the Hamilton cast recoding a break for a bit.

They change the space pretty regularly. Did you see Scenes from a Marriage? They changed the space over intermission.

Saw this last Sunday and was completely enchanted! I also happened to be at a performance that Anais Mitchell herself attended, we were even in the same bathroom line. I have to say though, I'm not as big a fan of the concept album, I much preferred the performers at the staged performance, partially because I'm not a fan of overly breathy folksy singing.

Since the concept album was all that was available I've been enjoying it though I understand that this cast has recorded this production! I'm going Tuesday night for the third time. Might as well enjoy it while it is here.
We just got back from our New York trip. We saw 3 other great shows (Fun Home, Hamilton, and Shuffle Along), but this was the one that we loved the most. If you frequent these boards, you must see this show before it closes.

Does anyone know if this is transferring anywhere after its current run is over? Or is July 31 the last chance to see it. Thanks for any info.
There's been no indication of any plans of transfer, and several members of the cast have commitments in the fall or beyond.

Anyone know what this week's shows being sold out means for rush? Do we think they'll still have some....?
As far as I know, NYTW doesn't seem to hold a certain number of rush tickets, but, rather, it's just whatever is available, so, if the shows are sold out, I don't think they put aside any for rush. I would call the box office just to be sure of that, though.
If that is the case, I think they do a cancellation line, so that may be your best chance for this week.

The balance of the run (through July 31st) is completely sold out. I couldn't resist - I did attend a 4th time on Sunday afternoon. A friend went for the first time and as we were passing the box office she stopped to purchase a ticket for Thursday evening. She loved it that much she wanted to attend a 2nd time. We were told it is completely sold out. She inquired about rush or cancellations. We were told that there are no tickets available. The only possibility is if someone contacts them that they are not attending/using their ticket. The chance is slim we were told.
The performance yesterday was dynamic. The growth and comfort of the cast from when I saw it in early May to late July was absolutely obvious. They are all loving it and going deep into their characters. In such an intimate environment I have seen several of the cast cry during their scenes in the same moments on repeated visits. I heard and saw things this recent visit that I hadn't previously noticed because there is so much action to see and lyrics to catch.
We were slow in departing the front of the theater. Overheard that Sunday, July 24th would be the last day Patrick Page is performing as Hades. I did not find out why he is out the final week. I did ask Amber Grey about the cast album. Her response was that they did record it live in the theater but it will not be an entire recording. They did not want to do a double CD to capture it all since they are saving that for a future reincarnation of the show (boo because this is a great cast and I so want it all, hooray because this will have a future life!). She did not know when this would possibly be release.
Thanks for posting! I have tickets for the last performance, and I am sorry I won't be seeing Patrick Page. I guess that's the risk you take when you buy tickets for an extension. But I'm excited to be seeing it anyway
So sad to hear that the recording won't be full the show - I was so excited, too, that this was the cast that would be featured. Intrigued which songs will be on the album that comes out from this production.
