Hi,
I received a phone call today stating that the Oct 11th performance of Hair is cancelled. I am flying from out of towna nd this is very inconvenient
I am rebooking tickets obv and am so screwed over but does anyone know why the show was cancelled for that performance? It is a Sunday @ 3
It is cancelled because October 10th-11th is the marriage equality march on Washington. Most likely the cast will perform on the National Mall since the majority of the cast is involved with Broadway Impact.
Ah, yes. Gavin told me about this on Sunday. Said that if he didn't get the day off he just wouldn't come into work.

Why not just have an understudy madness show and put on a lot of U/s's?

I switched my tickets for October 10th. Is this show going to be cancelled too? Do you know if much of the cast will be gone this day?

^ Chances are, too many of them will be there, and there aren't enough u/s to take over.

What is so special about Broadway impact? I don't know what it is exactly, just that it has to do with marriage equality.

I really hope Gavin, Will, and Sasha will be there especially.
Do you think Gavin will take it off, based on what he said?

Uh, you could check it out and learn:

I highly doubt Gavin will work that weekend. The other leads I can't say. It seems like a very large portion of the cast is really vested in this fight for Marriage Equality and the march on Washington is a pretty big deal.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I, too, had tickets for that day, and was really frustrated to get that news. It seems like the last few times I've ordered tickets for something the event has been cancelled. I haven't rebooked yet since I need to check with the person going with me, but based on what's been said here it appears booking for that weekend is not recommended.

How is this the first that I have heard of the March? Well, now I know and I get to be there! Score.

Do you mean chances are that the 10th will be cancelled too? I would think if they cancelled the 10th that they would have said so when they cancelled the 11th but the 10th is still showing up and I just got tickets for it today. I really hope they don't cancel the whole weekend... I can't see them doing that. What do you guys think?
Also.. if anyone is seeing HAIR anytime soon... if you could inquire at the stage door to find out if the 10th Sat show will still go on and who might be out? I would appreciate this soooo much! I am from out of town and would do so if I could obviously (And obv. this then wouldn't be a problem) Thank you to anyone who could do this.
Can't they replace it with possibly a Monday night show??
i wouldn't be surprised if they do that. when they cancelled the opening night of the show they had to cancel the tickets but then sent all of the people who had tickets an email saying that they could buy tickets for the new closing night.
i'm happy the cast is going to be there! i'll be making the trip as well.

They did, on the previous Monday the 5th.
I love that the producers are obviously supportive of Gavin, the cast, and their commitment to BroadwayImpact. They could have easily not allowed folks to go citing "the show must go on." Kudos to everyone involved. Props to Gavin!
^ They're probably doing it to avoid comparisons to the Lamont Washington incident of '68.
