Ok, I just have to chime in here with the Keala love. Although, I'm a LOSER and haven't seen Keala in Hairspray yet, I have known her for many years. I first met Keala when we 'starred' as Carolers in "A Christmas Carol" in college and ended up doing a lot of theatre here in Vegas. Although my husband has been priveledged to spend more stage time with Keala, I have enjoyed every minute spent watching her incredible talent and have always valued her friendship and her loving support.
Here in Las Vegas, we couldn't be happier for her, but we do miss her terribly. We're all praying she'll get to come to Hairspray when it opens here next year, but will be thrilled for her whatever her future may be.
As for Mom & Dad Settle - it's so nice to hear from you! You may not remember me, but we've shared a blanket at the ranch! My husband was The Scarecrow in The Wiz and John/Judas in Godspell and we were both in Children of Eden with Keala. It's so wonderful to hear such positive experiences that your whole family is having. Please send our love to Keala!!

Kia Ora Dear:
I most certainly do remember you from the Ranch. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves out there on many occasions. We saw South Pacific, Annie and The Wiz. We have many fond memories of Betty, Keith and the group. When people used to ask Keala what she did in Vegas, she would say I used to have a lot of fun singing to the mules out in the country.
From humble beginnings huh! Kealas dad & I are praying as well that she will get to play in Vegas however we have learned to never try and second guess those who are out there in New York. Only time will tell what is in store for her.
I believe they will be having auditions for hairspay out there soon I hope you all go try out. It is a wonderful show and like you, her dad and I would love to see her back in Vegas.
Thank you for your kind words and support I hope we get to meet again in Vegas.
Ka kite, Mom & Dad Settle
