even before this cast was announced..i feel Queen latifah is the most overrated "actress'..if you can call her that,....in the world.
She is sooooo talentless...and has no expression and is cardboard on film. her line deliveries are bland and boring and monotone.
I cannot stand her. and she killed YCSTB.
one reason so far to keep me away from seeing this.
and i'm a huge hairspray fan.

Marc Shaiman, you are my favourite and my best. ^_^
Mateo, more megahuge congratulations from me! It's so awesome that the responsibility for this has been handed to a genuine fan, and it's going to be fantastic.
I love the way the website gives you the option to play the sequence again. Oh all right, if I must!!!
And the film doesn't look bad either.

Posted: 12/23/06 at 4:56pmI agree about Queen Latifah. How in hell she got an Oscar nomination for CHICAGO beats the f*ck out of me! Then again, that movie was overrated to begin with. Hopefully, this movie won't let me down. I'm a BIG fan of the original movie (go Divine!), never seen/heard the musical.

FOA- I am right there with you. Pfeif plays the BEST villains.
A hot blonde bigot with crown envy- who sings...sign me up!
I am pulling for this movie to be a success aswell Norn. I've made many positive observations, I think fans should be happy so far.
I think it will bring 'Spray to a whole new level.
SM2- at least listen to the cast recording. It's a lot of fun.

MATEO!
Congrats! That is amazing!
And other than Zac Efron being Link...hah...and that is more of a personal grudge than anything I will fully admit...I am super excited for this movie and I think everyone is perfect.
I had the pleasure of watching Miss Blonsky on set during the filming of Good Morning Baltimore, and I just wanted to put her in my pocket and take her home. She was so tiny and adorable.
I can say this: When she sings "I know every step, I know every song" I will probably start tearing because when they were filming that I was standing directly across from her as she sang those words and she was practically staring right at me adn all I could think was "ME TOO"

Posted: 12/23/06 at 10:09pmSince you had the liberty to hear her GMB, how was it compared to other actresses how have played the role? I haven't really hada chance to listen to her sing anything from the show, so I'm just really curious!

TD- LOL
I have heard a portion of her playback GMB (not the youtube vid) and I have to say- it's quite good. For once you hear a real teenager singing the song. There is youth and longing in her voice, which really makes the song pop. She adds some squeals and unique moments that will really make the character her own.
I can't wait to hear her sing the rest, especially the new song written for her. I hope she will get that opp to perform it at the Oscars. :)

mateo - stop feeding my heart with Walken!
I know they cut IT TAKES TWO (right?) but is BALTIMORE CRABS still in? I hope.

Walken Love. :)
I believe both are still in, correct marc?
I dont think 'Ladies Choice' replaced 'ITT.' I just think they gave Link another number.
I read somewhere the 'Baltimore Crabs' treatment, and the description is quite funny. It should be a highlight in the movie.

Nicole's Good Morning Baltimore is energetic and pure joy. As Mateo says she adds a few squeals...and while other actresses that would sound corny, she is the kind of person that it looks natural on because she is so joyful that she just can't seem to contain herself. She is going to delight fans.

Ah, I see, mateo.
Excellent!
I must be in the minority of people who liked that song (CRABS), but the heart likes what it likes...

I am in the minority aswell.
"I know where I've been" is probably my favorite number from the show.

Dang...Pfeiffer looks stunning. She's been off screen for so long I forgot what a looker she is. So happy she's in another musical.
Now if she would just get over her stage fright and do a stint in Chicago I would be happy.
