SPOILERS FROM THE MOVIE IN THE REPORT:

One of the "reporters" at the Ain't It Cool News movie website was at ShoWest and saw footage - he says "I really can’t believe I liked this footage. I was actually kind of dreading coming out to this event, but it has become one of my favorites of ShoWest so far."

My Uncle is currently working at ShoWest, and met the cast yesterday. He said that everyone is super nice, and that Niki is outstanding. He said the movie looks pretty good, and he saw a few of the dance numbers.

It iso so cute that in some pics Nikki gets cuts off beause of her height. Michelle looks amazing.

It was a great night and yes the highlight of ShoWest from those who saw the other film clips and screenings. It was like a prodcution number and best I have ever seen at ShoWest.

The composer was there also, but Marc did not get on the stage for photos. I was waiting to post until I had a photo to show you. But since someone posted the other photo links, which I am sure are better than mine I will not bother.

The opening number of the film is so great and the theatre owners loved it. They were really into this film. Many of the media I know who do not like musicals thought it was great. Travolat and Walken are great together.

The funniest person having their picture taken was Queen Latifah. She was playing to the photogs. I don't usually go to photo shoots, but they did not have a press conference for the media. People were yelling work it baby. She was just so funny. So was Travolta. Sorry I am so tired and still have one more night of ShoWest.

I have not even looked at my photos. Anyway, the cast were so excited and I am sure it was the reaction to the film the audience gave. Of course having some of the cast singing live on stage did not hurt the presentation. I was sitting with one theatre owner who has 79 theatre complexes and she loved the film. So I am sure it will end up showing in one of her theatres.:)

I can't wait to see the whole film!

You are so lucky "mateo"! I can't wait for 'Hairspray'!!! Since the segments listed on your blog say that they showed Queen Latifah singing "Big, Blonde & Beautiful", what is the status of that song in the film??

ShoWest did not show any clips of her singing. However they showed non-musical scenes that she was in and she was frickin' hilarious.

I did hear her sing a small portion of YCSTB that ShoWest played over the speakers at the end, and her voice was very sweet sounding.


I was also very impressed by Zac's voice. He has great presence on and off camera.

Mateo, do you have any pics of the banners of the movie’s characters in various poses with the films logo and large text that read “Shake it up”, “Pump it up”, “Tease it up”, “Step it up”, etc.

no I do not.

I am not sure when they will come out, probably not till May/June.

I saw people taking pictures of them- so the images may surface before that.

They are really cute though.
