I prefer Hamilturds and Hamiltons of Fun.

This thread is the trash of the thing.

I think the fan base is different because of the insane ticket prices. They intense fans aren't able to see the show 100 times like the Spring Awakening teenie-boppers or that crazy who saw Once all those times.

yeah, the fan base here either is very wealthy and affluent to afford the resale prices, or were prescient and got lots of tickets back in the day, or are the people in that cancellation line

I don't think much of the fan base has even seen the show.

This. A lot of the intense fans haven't actually seen it. Although there is a bootleg online that they might have seen. However many are very loyal to Lin and refuse to look at it because he said he hates bootlegs lol. Most of them just listen to the soundtrack over and over again, follow the stars on social media, make fan fiction, fan art etc.

I wanted to say that but was worried I was going to get someone mad. But yes I agree hundred percent.

Spot on. Though their enthusiasm is pretty remarkable for those who haven't seen it! Amazing how a sung through cast recording can make you really understand and experience the story.

I like a good rhyme more than a good time

And I think it is that demographic entirely that hungers for all the press. Just trying to get closer to it.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Thank you! I'm pretty sure I tweeted being an original #Hamilfan after seeing Hamilton in previews at the Public (since at the point less than 1000 people had seen it). And i'm sure many others did the same before it was "coined on tumblr"

Hamilfans

yes. you probably did. because "Hamilfan" is literally part "Hamilton" and part "fan." the suggestion that one single person 'coined' that fairly basic, ordinary phrase is beyond bizarre

This is true and I've also found it to be true of much of the Hamilton detractors.
