Has anyone up here had any luck with the Hamilton lottery ?

Only before it went digital. Since it moved on-line, I read one person on here who said they won and another person commented on Lin's facebook status one day that he had won. They said they get about 15,000 entries per show compared to the 800-1200 they got at the theater.

I was sort of wondering if anyone was winning until Saturday. I was in the Hamilton's cancellation line and the woman in front of me won the ticket lottery! Later 4 unclaimed lottery tickets (what's up with that?) were sold to the cancellation line.

I think certain careless people are joining the lottery even though they are not within commuting distance, just to see if they could win. Since unclaimed lottery tickets go right back to the box office, that's a real damper for those earnestly trying the lottery every day.

It took a lot of tries, but I recently won. Just keep trying.
Having front-row seats for this magnificent show is an experience I will always remember and be grateful for.

Congratulations Other one! I'm glad people are winning who truly appreciate the experience

I won one week ago - it's still hard to believe.
I heard an average of 4 seats go to the cancellation line each night. I'm all for the digital lotto to give more people a chance to enter and have a shot at winning but I do thinks something should be done to make sure all seats are given away to lotto players for each show - a backup system of some sort. The lotto site says 21 seats are sold via lottery for $10 but it really, 21 are offered, an average of 17 are sold at $10 and then 4 are sold at $177...
I read somewhere it took 42 times for one person before they won. So it's possible.

Without going back over my e-mail history, and counting the number of times I stood on line between last August and December, I am sure it took more than 42 times for me. I hope this doesn't sound greedy, but now that I've won, now that I've seen it, I am going to start trying again. Gifts like this don't come around very often.

As someone who hasn't won yet, I wish that they would monitor to make sure people weren't winning multiple times. I know some lotteries in the past have not let people win more than once a month, etc. I'm sure with the number of entries Hamilton gets, people are rarely winning more than once, but still...

I bet they do monitor for that,, and they should. More than once a month? With all the people submitting, that would be unfair.

I have never won but my son won at the 12th time..so it IS possible. I mean someone has to win..
But seriously, the digital lotteries in general are horrible for those of us who could have done the in person lotteries...because the odds are so much worse than they used to be. I get that it reaches more people and I appreciate why it's being done this way but for me personally, it would not be my choice .

I have had 2-4 people entering about 4-0-50% of the time since they went digital and none of os have ever won. There have also been a few times I entered and forgot to check if I won in time but I lost all those times as well. It may not be that people aren't within distance but just forget to go back and check to see if they won. TodayTix calls you when you win to let you know, Hamilton should do the same.

I'm with you The Other One.. It'd be more than a gift if I won every 30 days, but I'm not holding my breath. Figure with 15,000 entries per show, if you sign up with a partner for every performance in a year you or your partner would win about once every two years. With those chances, excuse me while I put in my entry today...
I use my mother as a second entry, and every day at 4:05p, I tell her she lost and we're not about to jump in a car and drive to NYC and she says, "Oh, good."
Not to go off-topic, but I looked on the Broadway Direct website the other day and it didn't mention what time the winners are chosen/notified... Does anyone have an idea or rough estimate for this? I'll be in the city with my mother tomorrow and we are thinking of entering for tomorrow evening, but we want to have time for a backup plan. Our day is pretty open - we arrive around noon and will run to our hotel to drop off our bags/try to check in, and then have reservations at the Meow Parlour at 5 (we lost our 19.5 year old kitty last month so we are in need of some fur!) and were thinking of getting rush tickets to School of Rock if Hamilton doesn't work out. The only other digital lottery we have tried was for Pippin in Boston in February and we were able to enter for multiple performances at a time and were notified a few days ahead of time if we won. (Mom won, I lost so we still got to see the show.) I used to be so up on the lottery/rush stuff but I moved back home to MA after graduating college in 2011 and don't get to New York nearly as often as I used to!

I was just about to post a thread on this. I think I've tried more than 10 times and so far, nothing. I have been wanting to see this show since it opened and I refuse to pay $2,000+ for a ticket. I just hope they monitor the super fans who have won multiple times. It's unfair to those who have never seen the show and want to get the experience. So I pray that soon enough, I will win the lottery...
Off-topic... are the ticket prices for Hamilton likely to decrease? I remember when the Book of Mormon opened, it was impossible to get tickets lower than $1000, but now their prices are somewhat affordable...

Maybe five years from now like Mormon, but nothing on the immediate horizon for sure.

I've entered about 60 times since it went digital with no luck yet, and it's frustrating to hear that some tickets go unclaimed but I guess it makes sense. I wish they did theirs like TodayTix when they contact backups if tickets go unclaimed. I got a call from them about 6:30 before an 8pm show for She Loves Me offering an unsold lottery seat, but I didn't have enough time to make it into the city. But still it was nice to know they were trying to sell them to people who had entered and not just returning them to the box office.
If they win every Tony Award, including Best Musical, I feel like there will be zero hope for getting tickets in the future.
I tried the in person lotto multiple times and I never won. I tried the digital lotto for the first time a little over a month ago and won on the first try. Still is unreal that I won haha

As opposed to buying a face value ticket in the next block for early 2017 and planning ahead?!
My friend won the digital lottery on his first try, and I was the lucky plus one.

First of all, I think if someone is offering you $10 lottery tickets, you should be able to check for yourself. It's not enough that they are offering them = they have to personally let you know? I don't agree...
Also Today's Tix does not call you when you win. They may call you if you didn't win at the first pick.. and then some last minute lottery tickets open up - and they'll call the next people on the list. But normally you just get an email or text.
