Hi Everyone,
I am going to be in NY tomorrow for the weekend and am trying as best I can to see Hamilton (obviously). I have been in talks with someone on Craigslist and asked for a picture of the tickets/receipt for validity. I got the picture and noticed a few things that seemed iffy, so wanted to get some second opinions. Here's the pic he sent. Let me know your thoughts!
I see no pix.

Hmm. I see the pic on my phone. Let me double check.
No picture showing up for me on my desktop or phone...
i would not buy tickets o CL ever. Stubhub or TM sure because you have recourse but not CL where you don't.

Ok let's try this again. Here's a link to the photo:

I mean these look fine but there's no way to know. I wouldn't buy off Craig's list. It's better to pay more on stubhub where you get your money back. Or ticketmaster resale which is the best. And I would take the photo down immediately.

That is not what Hamilton tickets look like. Don't buy them.

That's what they look like if you physically get the tix from Ticketmaster.

Ok I took the pic down. And forgetregret, that's what I thought too in looking at pictures of tickets online. However since it says they were purchased in September 2015, I didn't know if they may have changed in appearance since then.

dramamama are you sure?
I agree. I compared the image with the ticket I bought at the box office. These are fakes.
Plus, what is the address on the ticket? The Rodgers is at 226 W. 46th St. These seem to say 48th St.
I can't say if THOSE are real, and you cannot compare them to the tickets you buy from the box office. The ones from the RR won't have anything from ticketmaster on them.
But yes, ticketmaster tickets look like that.

For what it's worth, I've gotten Hamilton tickets from both Ticketmaster and the box office, and they've looked the same. Never like that. I'd be really careful.

Thanks for the confirmation of my suspicions everyone! I may be checking on a couple others in the next day or two if that's cool. I'll make sure to post w/o the bar codes next time!
It says on the ticket that they are transferable so tell seller you want to do PayPal and tm transfer. See how they react. Hustlers will either fade away or give you some excuse about not having a PayPal.

These tix completely reek of fakeness. You could tell because the font is very similar to a real ticket but just a little off. And Hamilton tickets always have a Nederlander seal on them, and these just have ticketmaster. Like everyone has said, AVOID!!!!

Stay away from CL. I nearly got scammed twice & the theatre will not check the tickets prior to the show.
The tickets on CL look very legit. If you do decide to proceed, make sure it's a PP/TM transfer. No hard/printed copies. If you are using PP, make sure you send the money via G&S (covered) and not FF (not covered).

I think the font on the tickets looks very suspicious. And I would never buy on Craigslist no matter what.

Unfortunately one thing to keep in mind is if tickets on websites that do not offer some guarantee like ticketmaster or stubhub have prices that are cheaper than the protected services, there is probably a reason.

FYI the pic is still there.

I'm going to say doctored fakes based on legit tickets to something else. The "confirmation" says AmEx but the ticket stock indicates a MasterCard purchase. Also, I ordered my March ticket last November and it didn't arrive on TM stock.
this is a lot of discussion that could have been short-circuited by following the only sensible advice you need: DO NOT BUY TICKETS ON CRAIG'S LIST. PERIOD. EVER.

I realized the photo was in my trash, but not deleted. I checked again and it's gone now (granted it's fake anyways). I am pretty wary of hard tickets as well and that's pretty much all I was seeing on CL. I don't know that I would have actually gotten anything on CL either, but thought it may at least be worth exploring regardless. I guess I'll just try my luck with the lottery and StubHub.
