I've never seen the Chicago cast so this would be our only chance to catch Josh Henry.

Wasn't Joshua Henry recently announced to be touring as Burr?

I think Nycat63 is trying to exchange their March Chicago tickets for earlier tickets so they could catch Josh Henry before he leaves. Unfortunately, he's leaving 1/15 which is very soon.

"Yes but I'm a 2 hour drive from Chicago - am fortunate enough to be able to fly to NYC a couple times a year for Broadway trips but can't also afford go to the tour cities just to catch Josh Henry.  I was trying to move my ticket up on the assumption he may stay until early Feb but with the Jan 15 departure I'm out of luck (had surgery and won't be out of a boot/recovered enough to make the trip).  Very sad but so it goes.  I'm just particularly bummed because I saw it once in NY literally 1-2 weeks after the departures of several OBC members (and maybe 3 days post-Daveed) and prior to their actual replacements but i paid insane Tony-fueled secondary market prices.  Don't get me wrong, it was still fabulous, but my timing could definitely be better!

Yes there is a cancellation line.. I stopped by for the Wednesday matinee just a few minutes before 11:30am and there were about 6 people in line.  But I suspect that the tickets pop up on TM as well 2 hours before the show.  I was checking TM while I was in line and seats opened up, so I bought one on my phone rather than waiting in the cancellation line (I was about #5 at that point).

Thanks! I could have sworn there was a separate thread for it but I can't seem to find it. I did Cancellation line in NYC last Memorial day so six people in line at 11 sounds like a piece of cake lol. Does anyone know how many tickets are normally released? Same rules as the NYC line?

Also if you don't mind me asking how was the prices for the tickets you bought through tm? Did you then have to go find a place to print them out as well?

They use mobile ticketing in Chicago (just download the TM app), so I didn't have to print out the ticket (very convenient).  The ticket that I bought was rear orchestra center for $97+ fees.  Only a tiny bit on the left was obstructed.  I would say I was able to see 90%+ of the stage.  The over hang did not obstruct the top part of the stage for me.  I think the same rules for cancellation line applies.  I don't know how many tickets normally pop up, but I saw about 10 for the Wednesday matinee.

Isn't this mostly a rewrite of the Chicago Tribune article that was previously posted here?

In case people were curious, my seats for the 2/17 show in Chicago were mailed on 12/22.  I have seats for a show a week later, that were not mailed out yet.

They would be face value.

That is not something I expected. I'd heard Breaker's name thrown around and was hoping for him.  I have nothing against Brady...he's a fine performer. But is he a performer at the level of the role? I don't know. His run is fairly short, so this spring and summer will bring a new Burr.

Looks like I'm seeing him as Burr! Excited and nervous to see how he does.

Our tix are end of March - so I'll wait to see how Mr. Brady is received in his first weeks in January before deciding whether to shift those tix.

"Mine are also but who knows who will succeed him, so maybe he will prove us all wrong??  (Ok no one bash me I'm just trying to make lemonade here...albeit with tears that I will never see Joshua Henry instead of lemons).

You know if you were going when Joshua Henry was still in it, he could've been out then too, right?

I just went on the BroadwayInChicago website, and the tickets we currently have for March 24 (Side Orchestra) seem to have been bumped up in price to Premium Seats for $497.  Also, oddly, center orchestra is the same price as the side orchestra seats.  And there are a fair number of center orchestra available. (30 or so) And no, we didn't pay anything close to that amount.  I don't know when the bump in price happened.  It does not appear keyed to Mr. Brady, since the same price seems in effect for April 14 (and another May Friday evening as well) after Mr. Brady has left.  So, now the issue for us will be whether to sell - even at less than the premium price - and take the money to buy tix for another date after Mr. Brady leaves.  Unless, of course, we decide we MUST see Mr. Brady.

I'm pretty sure they did that after the second batch of dates were released.

Tone down your vitriol in this thread. There are many worse threads on here where you can redirect it.

No, mama.

Anyway, I'm not so much being vitriolic as I am reminding people that there are hazards attached to going to a show for one person. Sure, you can say you're buying tickets for XX name in several months, but are you really?
