I saw the Chicago company shortly after it opened. To date Josh Henry is in a tie with Nicholas Christopher as my favorite Burr, and Karen Olivo is my favorite Angelica. I hope to get out there to see it one more time before it closes.
How was Paris Nix as Lafayette/Jefferson?
Hey Dottie!
Did your colleagues enjoy the cake even though your cat decided to sit on it? ~GuyfromGermany
Paris Nix was great! His Jefferson was spot on. His Lafayette very funny. Although I will say "Guns and Ships" was hard to understand if you don't already know the lyrics (although I've had this probably with each Lafayette I've seen). The song really is just SO fast.

Paris Nix is FABULOUS. I saw him on his very first night and was impressed that he debuted so strong. Then I went at the end of May and he was even more amazing-- just so charismatic and equally good in both parts, which I think a lot of people struggle with. I think he's currently my second favorite in Chicago, behind Miguel Cervantes. I really hope he's able to transfer after Chicago closes.

I don’t have enough good things to say about Paris Nix. Really. He performs with so much energy, enthusiasm, and joy and his ability shines through so much. I’ve yet to find see anyone touch Daveed Diggs’s Lafayette, but Paris is probably #2.
I would love to see Akron Watson, Nikki Renee Daniels, and Paris Nix join the Broadway company after Chicago closes (or any of the other companies!) The current Chicago cast is amazing, but those 3 are top rate.
Saw this tonight for 1st time & have to add to the chorus - very impressed by both Miguel Cervantes and Paris Nix. Audience adored Tamar Greene (Wahington) and Andrew Call (King George). Sandra Okuboyejo was on as Angelica & I heard some people complain, but I thought she was good - but I only have the OBC recording to compare her too. Robert Ariza was on as Laurens/Philip & he & Cervantes look a lot alike, so they really felt like father & son.
Liked how with merch they have a special t-shirt that riffs on the Chicago city flag, as on a walking tour I did with 2nd City theatre (this is my 1st ever time in Chicago, so doing all the tourist stuff) the guide talked about what a big deal their city flag is locally.
