Wallace is excellent, especially in the second act.

Thanks! Hope to catch him in March. They really did a superb job of casting in Chicago so i would love to catch all the principals. Though no complaints whatsoever about his understudy.

Who did you see as Mulligan?

Glad to hear that Wayne Brady did a good job in his first show as Burr. I saw the saw in December with Joshua Henry and it would be very hard to follow him!
Did you hear the news that Tony Winner James Monroe Iglehart (Genie in Aladdin) will join Hamilton on Broadway in April as Lafayette/Jefferson? He is a friend of LMM and was originally involved in the Hamilton Workshops as Mulligan when he was offered the part in Aladdin. I bet he will be great as L/J!
Would definitely be worth a trip to NY to see him, especially if BVD is still in as Burr.

Another friend of mine (who doesn't post here) also happened to have tickets to Wayne Brady's first show, and he said he was very good and didn't stick out as a celebrity.

If anyone is interested, here is a link to a youtube video of Wayne Brady, LMM and Chris Jackson doing an improv rap with word suggestions from the audience at a Broadway Cares event in Dec. 2015. (Wayne was in Kinky Boots at the time.)

It gets pretty funny, especially from LMM.

Colby Lewis covered Mulligan last Sunday. I can only compare him to Oak - he's very different in his physicality and acting choices, but it really worked for him. Thought he had good chemistry particularly with Chris Lee (Laf/Jeff).
Speaking of Iglehart joining the NY cast, I have such bad seller's remorse! My teenage daughter and I do Broadway trips whenever possible and saw Ham in NY in July with part of the OBC and several understudies and will see it in Chicago in March. We did have NY Ham tickets for this June, but she decided she wanted to see Dear Evan Hansen again instead and give up her Ham tickets. We also figured by that point we'd have seen the best of the show casting-wise. With all the great shows coming to NY this spring, we couldn't fit in 2 repeat shows and see everything else we want to see, so I sold the Ham tickets. Ugh. His Jefferson is going be unbelievable. I'd give anything just to see him do "What Did I Miss."

"Lucky" Chicagoens! Lin Manuel Miranda will be reprising his role in Chicago for one night only, So terrorist and cop killer Oscar López Rivera who was released by the Pardoner-in-Chief can come see him perform.
That was not an earthquake you just felt. It was Alexander Hamilton, Aaron Burr, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, General Lafayette, The Schuyler Sisters rolling around in their graves in disgust

Oh the children and their adorably ignorant political statements. Except it's not adorable. Starting tomorrow there's no excuse for anyone to be that ignorant. Get with it.

"Im guessing these great Americans would be against a terrorist killing innocent men, women and children and planting bombs all around the US, including Frances Tavern where President George Washington gave his historic Farewell Address

Petralicious, how accurate is that guess??! The Founding Fathers, these great Americans were in a war they killed a lot of people too. Some could argue that the British opponents were in the right side of history. If you are against what this person did, that's your opinion but do not bring what the Founding Fathers will feel about it because you simply don't know!

I saw Wayne Brady on Tuesday, and while he hit all the right notes, I found him extremely lacking in presence. Burr no longer felt like a leading role, or the prime narrator, he just felt like another one of the guys, a role on the same level as Washington, Lafayette, and Mulligan. Because of that, the through line of the tension between Burr and Hamilton didn't really come through, and the show just felt very episodic and expositional. I was amazed in how one performer lacking gravitas could so drastically change the trajectory of the show.
He smiled through almost every moment of the show. It was easy to tell that he was really excited to be in Hamilton, but I feel like his performance suffered because of it. He didn't throw himself into his numbers as much as Leslie did. A couple days later, I have already kind of forgotten about Brady. He really didn't do much to leave any kind of impression. He wasn't bad, but he was nothing compared to those who played the role before him.
That said, he got thunderous applause after each of his numbers, so perhaps I'm in the minority. I was really excited to see Josh Henry's performance, and then suddenly it was announced that he was leaving. All my friends who saw the show in the fall were raving about Henry, so I was disappointed to not be able to see him. I tried to go in with an open mind, but Brady just didn't bring it the way I wanted him to. Of course, it was only his first performance. He has room to grow.

A few people have asked about the cancellation line in Chicago so I thought I'd post about my experiences! As a note, we'd already seen the OBC last spring and the Chicago show once, so we weren't THAT serious about the line but hopefully this can help some people!
The first time I tried to do it was in October. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but we went around 11:15am in hopes for the Saturday matinee just a couple hours later. That seemed to be a really bad decision because there were fifteen people in front of us all wanting two tickets, so we ended up buying resale from StubHub about an hour before the show. To pick up SH tickets is about 30 minutes round trip on the train from the theatre and prices dropped to about $150 for balcony, which ended up being a pretty good view
The second time we tried was on Saturday January 7 for the 8pm show. We stopped in at 12:30 and the box office employee (who couldn't have been friendlier!) told us to come back at 3. One added bonus was that on our way out, Miguel was just standing on the sidewalk. He totally saw my face when I realized who he was, and he asked if we wanted to take a picture with him so we got one right under the marquee!
We came back at 3:30 and were third in line for tickets 4 and 5 (box office hadn't released anything yet at this point). At about 4:00, the first person got two seats together. At 4:10, the single in front of us got her one. At 4:20, we got our two tickets for $180 each (no fees!) in row B & D. The view was very obstructed but you could see all the actors faces perfectly.
In conclusion, we went in October when the weather was perfect and it was extremely crowded. We went in January when the weather was awful and got right in. Also - you get to wait inside so I would just find the day with the crappiest weather and go!
Hope this is helpful to at least somebody!

A friend of a friend was at that performance. According to her Facebook post, Wayne was just pretty good, but the understudy who took over after intermission was amazing. I can't remember his full name, but it was something Clemons- something.

Does anyone know if there is a site where you can trade tickets? My wife and I have tickets for the April 29 evening show and we have a conflict that evening.
Thanks

I am also looking for a swap if possible. I have 2 tickets for Thursday, March 23. Right Orch, Row T, seats on the far right aisle but these are not limited/obstructed. I don't have a conflict but would love tickets for the evening show on Saturday, March 11 instead if someone wants to swap. We are coming from out of town and seeing Hedwig on the 12th so one trip would be preferable to two. Am really only interested in non-obstructed orchestra or very low mezz (daughter has developed issues with even moderate heights) and would pay slightly more if your tickets are slightly better since you'd be saving me train fare.
Just thought I would put it out there. Thanks!

I was at the performance where Wayne Brady went out and Carl Clemons-Hopkins took over mid show. Brady had a weird thing happen during Schuyler Sisters - completely blanked during the bit where he hits on Angelica - and then next scene he was gone and Mr. Clemons-Hopkins was on.
He.
Was.
Amazing.
If you go to see the Chicago production and he is on...you are in for a treat.
(though, to be fair, distractingly tall...possibly even taller than Washington...I would never have cast him alongside Miguel, who is quite small.)

He seems awfully defensive about his reputation. First with Chris Jones and now that?
Wasn't he also just out of Merrily in LA with a similar injury?
