Saw the show for a third time Saturday through the lottery! I was in the second row and man is that stage high!! I honestly thought my box and balcony seats were much better than the seat I had this time around.
It had been over a year since I’ve seen the show and I hadn’t listened to the album, so I went in pretty fresh.
I thought it was great performance. Of the replacements, I thought Andrew Call was the best. He was truly exceptional and had the audience in the palm of his hands. Going in I was a bit nervous about Montego, but I honestly didn’t mind her. She wasn’t as good as Karen, though. Of the cast members who have been there since the beginning, I felt like Ari was the most stale. I also can’t stand her voice. It’s so nasally.
Overall the technical/dance aspects of the show are still pretty exceptional and anyone seeing it for the first time will enjoy it.

Ari's final performance as Eliza will be March 25.

Any word on her replacement?

Usually I don't do reviews, but just created this account to go gaga over Hamilton. I loved the show. Very fast-paced and the songs are just so interesting. Hamilton is shown as a character with lots of flaws which makes him even more appealing to the audience. The cast was just outstanding, as good as the New York cast IMOHO. My favorite songs were Wait for It and Take a Break. It's a long show, so be prepared. Worthy every penny though. The set moves very fast and the lightning almost is part of the story, very beautiful and entertaining. When Hamilton first came out, I was one of those people suspicious that it would do well. But the minute I saw the show I was sold. The nice thing is that the Chicago version is the same as the Broadway version, so you don't feel like you got cheated.

The thing about Hamilton is that is suitable for young audiences. Modern sound, not that boring, flat and old Broadway tunes that no one under 90-year-old wants to hear.

So, you introduce yourself by alienating 99% of everyone who posts here.  You should probably stick to not doing reviews.

Ari Afsar left the Chicago company today! Do we know who their new Eliza is?

My guess is since they haven't announced it yet, Candace and Brittany will tag-team for a couple of weeks before they announce/bring a new, permanent Eliza in. My question though, do we think Ari is transferring to Broadway or one of the tours? She posted something on her Instagram that said "last week in Hamilton Chicago", and not just Hamilton.

I wondered the same thing! But she just posted something saying her “last bow as Eliza Hamilton.” So it doesn’t look likely now...

According to the Hamilton website, Jamila Sabares-Klemm is the new Chicago Eliza!

Just thought I’d mention here that both performances today have been canceled due to the extreme cold.

Right now it’s -20 in Chicago and even colder factoring in the wind chill. Good on Broadway in Chicago and the producers for making this call.

I see Paris Nix is the new Lafayette/Jefferson. I remember him from the Beautiful tour in DC a few years ago.

Ha interesting timing! After giving up my ticket to Hamilton Chicago two+ years ago (and this thread being dormant since about then) I’m FINALLY seeing the show here in Columbus on Saturday! (Aka three days away!)

Just a quick question for those who have done “Hamilton” at this theater...

Yesterday I went to purchase my July front row Mezzanine tickets, at a price I was pretty happy with, until it added the fees and “required” Suite Service package, throwing the price up over $250. Was the Suite Service worth it for those who have had this “option” added?

For me, definitely. I saw Hamilton in Chicago twice, once with Suite Service and once without.

Front row mezzanine is a great seat, probably as good or better than some that they sell as premium. I just considered $250 a reasonable price for it.

But in addition to that - the theater has a lot of seats, and not nearly enough rest rooms. And they don't extend the intermission or start late. Suite Service gives you bathrooms with no lines. Plus drinks before the show and champagne at intermission, and a place to put your coat rather than having to sit on it. Overall, it was a very nice experience, and definitely worth the price for me.

Oops, I tried to fix this but accidentally added another one.

I believe both times I saw it in Chicago at the CIBC, I got my tickets via Ticketmaster. I don’t recall a Suite Service option. What is that?

Thank You! I’ll have to go back and take a look at it again. I do like the idea of a nice place to hang out prior to the show, since I always arrive way too early. :)

That looks cool. Obviously not a necessity, but I will say the bar gets super busy at intermission. In fact, I gave up on getting a drink at intermission last time as the line was still super long at the 5 minute warning. If that is important to you, it be nice to bypass the line.

Also, I like The Grillroom directly across from the theater. It’s a good vantage point (especially from the patio) to take pics of the front of the theater. Reservations highly recommended.

Thanks Miles2Go2. I checked out their website and some pics on Google Maps and it all looks very good. I’d have a very busy schedule for my short time in Chicago and may not have time for a long sit down meal. Maybe for a quick bite pre-show if I don’t decide to make a meal of the hors d’oeuvres in the suite lounge. lol Hamilton Chicago

Has anyone seen Nikki Renée Daniels as Angelica lately? Gonna try my luck with the lottery this week in hopes to see her.

Nikki’s attendance is very good. Alysha has been calling out.

Saw the Chicago cast tonight 8/1 for the first time having seen Broadway (last year) and Philip Tour (earlier this year) and found this cast to be uniformly the strongest. Absolute standouts were Akron Watson as Aaron Burr, Nikki Renee Daniels as Angelica, and Aubin Wise as Peggy/Maria. Robert Ariza who was on for Hamilton was great as well. All the leads were strong and I hope with the upcoming closing we see many of them in other productions of Hamilton! The ensemble was also probably the best of the 3 I've seen. Helps this was the closest I've sat so I felt I connected with the piece much more and was really able to see the intricacy of the choreography.

Do what you can to see this amazing cast before the show closes in January!

I’ve seen the Chicago cast three times and I agree that it is very strong. I see The Philip Tour here in Oklahoma City on August 14th!
