I have listened to the whole thing 5 times now. And honestly, I have been searching for great moments. Lyrically, vocally or musically.

The rest of the cast recording is one big cheap noisy uninspired r&b nineties amusical rip-off. Sometimes there is one word that tends to go into an interesting melody or harmony but it's quickly thrown away during the next word."

One imagines the answer would take less characters than what you posted.

Everyone here keeps talking about "when the OBC leaves." But is that really going to happen anytime soon? The cast is in THE MOST popular show on broadway right now. Tickets are sold out months in advance, and with the enormous amount of money the show is making, I would suspect that the actors are living very comfortably. Being in the cast of Hamilton provides the job security that so few actors have. If I were in Hamilton, I would never want to leave the show.

Really? Most of the actors have been with the show for two years or more....anything can prove tiresome. Additionally, you get more offers when you are hot...those often dry up if not acted upon. Most actors look to constantly create, and grow. Of course, we can't say for sure, but most will not make it to the two year mark. Even those that extend will likely do so for less than a full year.

Betsy left. While she wasn't a lead, she is an OBC. So, the ability to see the full OBC is gone.
New projects come up, and just because the show is doing well, it doesn't mean the money outweighs the strain a cast member gets on their body, their voice. If leaving Hamilton to take a less strenuous role elsewhere is an option, some people may take it.

Yes, but if you are prominently featured in Hamilton, you could be getting offers to originate your first leading role in a musical for the first time, move from ensemble to featured, etc. Gotta jump while that interest exists, plus they have been doing the same 3-hour show 8x a week for 18+ months.

18 months? They performed it at the Public from January through May 5th. Then started again in July through right now. Your math is incorrect.

hey MARGO. if you include workshops and readings which the majority of the original cast participated in then it has easily been 18+ months. if not more. thanks

I'm counting to when most of their 12-month Broadway contracts would likely end in June-July, not now. I do think the show would be smart to pay as many OBC featured performers as much as they want to extend by at least 6 months for the post-Tony win victory lap.

I don't think the show will bother as the tickets for that 6 months are already sold out.

I thank my lucky stars that I saw it last September and the ticket was under $100.
