Yes and based on the angry reaction of some of the fans who had their tickets cancelled last minute because of the snow, they will be back today.

I saw the show on Thursday and was very impressed by how good Matthew was this late in the run. He was in very good voice, and still seemed to be enjoying doing the show without sleepwalking or anything. And considering the two performances were cancelled yesterday, I felt very fortunate to have seen him and Kelsey together. (He was excellent as well, by the way).

^ May I ask how consistent was his Scottish accent? I remember early on during previews people commented that he had some trouble maintaining it especially while singing.

I saw ''Finding Neverland'' many times, and Morrison was very consistent with his accent and his singing. If it were up to me, he would've won the Tony. ... Glad his final shows aren't snowed out.

Sunny11, his accent was completely consistent. I was surprised with how thick he performed it.

Very consistent in both accent and performance.Accents are always a challenge for listeners. I do think no matter what you thought of his performance, he worked hard and was dedicated to the show throughout. He was out practically every damn night greeting fans. I don't think a Tony was due him with Michael C.being the winner but a nomination wouldn't have been unwarranted.

I completely agree with everything you said Kathy. His dedication to his performance and to his fans at the stage door every night was very admirable and I have a lot of respect for him as well. Happy trails indeed!

Saw it in previews. Had no desire to see it and got an invite. Loved the show and he was wonderful. So glad I got to hear and see him live.

Looking at Twitter at curtain call Eliot Kennedy,  Gary Barlow,  Diane Paulus and the original peter  Aidan Gem Me went on stage.  Diane and Matthew gave speeches. 

Matthew is wearing a kilt while signing at the stage door. Nice ode to Scotland but he must be f ing freezing!

He always gets a huge amount of applause at the end of the show..

But tonight's show was like a rock concert..he was cheered when he walked on stage, throughout the show and at the end. Kelsey also got a lot of loud applause and cheers (no pun intended). It was an audience who obviously came for THIS performance. The cast also gave Matt a huge round of applause when he came out for his bow.

Diane Paulus came out for the curtain call and introduced the composers who flew in from England for the event (and probably to work with replacement Tony as well). She announced that not only was Matthew leaving tonight but conductor Mary Mitchell Campbell played her last show tonight as well (Did I read she is going to Tuck Everlasting?). They all praised Matt as being a true leader for the show and Diane while complimented Matt's talent as a singer, actor, dancer, she said she was most impressed that he was such a lovely man and that he would be very missed.

Matt said a few words as well - thanking everyone...A number of the boys were holding back tears. I feel lucky to have been there.

You know, you would think that but they are surprisingly warm. I am American but I have worn them three or four times (with no underwear like a proper Scotsman) in very cold weather in Scotland and I was nice and toasty, no problem.

It just dawned on me that maybe you are supposed to wear underwear with a kilt but the drunk Scotsman and Scotswomen I was with just played a little joke on me ... three or four times, lol.

KathyNYC2 - That is great, saw the show in December and he was wonderful. He was very nice to my daughters at the stage door, noticed my youngest daughter's "Broadway Dance Center" bag and asked her what kind of dance she liked.

I was there for MM last performance and he was amazing! The show was great too! I can't believe I avoided this show last year.  Now I want to see Tony in the role too!

Nice to see him exiting with some love.  This show has been bashed relentlessly and his performance has frequently been highly critiqued.   I thought it was a good show and his performance was very good. Certainly not warranting the put downs it received, IMO.  But then again, those seemed to be frequently tied in with mention of the producer.  So it oft times seemed the dislike for the show had more to do with him than the show itself.

For all the put downs here the show is still running almost a year later and is financially healthy.

Surely that means that the general consensus  from theather goers is positive? 

Unless you believe the conspiracy theory that producer is cooking the books and then somehow giving away free tickets without anybody noticing lol

Harvey Weinstein's overconfidence (some say arrogance) rubbed a lotta people the wrong way, and when he boasted out of town that he didn't need the N.Y. critics, he really hurt his show. When ''Finding Neverland'' arrived on Broadway, it had a big target on its back. His detractors also expressed their displeasure with its producer at Tony nominations time. (I believe Weinstein has since expressed his regrets.) It's to this beautiful show's credit and its superb cast that it's found the audiences that it has.

I really enjoyed the show and Mr. Morrison's performance. Like you said, it has found audience and that is a good thing. I enjoy when a show that is not loved by the critics finds audience and maybe will actually make money in the end just to prove these critics wrong.

I hope that it during the more popular time  periods it goes back to being consistently in the $ million club. It's almost February now so it's only another 2 or so months until grosses start showing an upswing. Spring break week was fantastic for the show last year, though it had only recently began previews.

 

Weinstine estimated that they should recoupe by October but they need those tourist dollars to get there.
