Harry Potter.....on Broadway??

Could a stage version be the next venture for the multi-billion dollar entity that is "Harry Potter"?

re: Harry Potter.....on Broadway??

HARRY (walking down Hogwarts hallway) singing: (to the tune of 'oh what a beautiful morning')

"There's a clean smell coming from the floor tiles, There's a clean smell summing from the floor tiles. Lemony fresh scent, you only can get, With the use of a wand, not a swiffer wet-jet!

Oh what a magical morning! Oh what a magical day! I've got a magical feeling, Today is a magical day!

Oh the giant squid's still as a statue, Yes the giant squid's still as a statue! Maybe it's dead, heavy as lead Or perhaps just another trick by George and Fred!

Oh what a magical morning! Oh what a magical day! I've got a magical feeling, Today is a magical day!"

Harry runs head long into PROFFESER MGONAGAL who drops all of her things. Harry helps pick them up.

Prf.Mgonagal: Do watch where your going Mr. Potter!

Harry (blushes): Sorry! Sorry! Won't happen again!

Prf.Mgonagal: I trust you did last night's homework on buffaloes?!?

Harry: Yesm' I'll just be goin' now. (turns to leave)

Prf.Mgonagal: Harry! Wait!

Harry (turns): Yes?!?

Prf.Mgonagal: Sing another verse!

Harry (coughs): AH-HEM Mi Mi Mi Mi Mi!!!! (singing)

There are spells flying throughout the hallways There are spells flying throughout the hallways To this magical place- I return with great haste! And not just because they have tiny toothpaste!

Oh what a magical morning! Oh what a magical day! I've got a magical feeling, Today is a magical day!"

Prf.Mgonagal: Mr. Potter, if I weren't so old and studios, and you weren't so young and adventurous, I'd hire you as a professor and have you sing to me every night in the teacher's lounge!

Harry: Speaking of family

Prf.Mgonagal: But we weren't...

Harry: SPEAKING OF FAMILY... have you seen Ginny lately?!?

Prf.Mgonagal: What does that have to do with family?

Harry: HAVE YOU SEE GINNY LATELY?!?

Prf.Mgonagal: No, no I haven't. But she'd probably down in the great hall eating breakfast...where you should be! Now scurry & hurry along!

Harry: Thanks Professor M! *Skips down to great hall singing "oh what a magical morning"*

I must confess to not having written that... my friend Erin composed it when we were in a production of Oklahoma! together. But I felt it was appropriate.

re: Harry Potter.....on Broadway??

Broadway will be theme park soon enough. Maybe Harry can slide in after Shrek and The Apprentice get here.

re: Harry Potter.....on Broadway??

I think a limit needs to be designated:

One Disney musical on Broadway at a time.

With Beauty and the Beast and Lion King already playing and Tarzan and The Little Mermaid coming where the heck are all the GOOD shows supposed to play!?!

re: Harry Potter.....on Broadway??

yes. there have been many threads on this topic in the past. in fact it was unanimously decided that the act one finale is to consist of Harry finally learning how to fly on his broom singing "Defying Rowling"...

re: Harry Potter.....on Broadway??

this is just not right...
Kristin Chenoweth could barely control a Great Dane she trotted onto the stage. "Great, they gave me a dog that weighs five times what I do", she quipped. For the record, she weighs 93 pounds, and has a Maltese.

re: Harry Potter.....on Broadway??

there should definetely be a limit.

however, i'm all for a lord of the rings musical. it should be the hobbit though, the prequel. that might be cute enough, i dunno.

dunno how they'd fix the height issues.

There actually is a musical version of "The Hobbit" floating around, mostly in community theaters.
