interesting thread... I have become good friends with a performer - - but, as PBEnt said - I still respect the fact that they are very busy and when you are in a show AND have a family - well - close friendships are hard to start-up. I, too, would say if they have said 'keep in touch' - that is a courteous phrase. In response to that you can either - think it was nice but do not respond -- - or respond at a later date with something interesting to them. There is a line into possible 'stalkerdom' that once you cross - no matter how innocent and unintended - - it would be hard to retrace your steps. JMO
