The new season is god-awful. I just felt sad watching these people's lives fall apart. It reminded me of a Judd Apatow movie: the first three seasons were hilarious, but everything turns sour. Seeing these previously one-dimensional stupid caricatures become fleshed-out characters was a major shock that flat out didn't work.

I honestly believe they prioritized shoehorning a million guest stars in before trying to make the show funny, or even like it was.

Hurwitz also said that the was Act One of a three act story. A possible 5th season and a movie will follow up to conclude these characters. I thought this season was genius, but it was missing the family dynamic since the actors schedules couldn't match up. But I think it was necessary for these characters to all be at the bottom, and hopefully they will rise back up in the future.

I found it to be better then most of the shows on TV right now, but not as high of quality as the first 3 seasons. It was great way to spend last night and today.

I found the comments about The Magic Show to be giggle worthy, as is much of Lucille 2's character.

Tommy Tune as Argyle Austero just cracked me up because I can't really see him without busting in laughter. The tan just...well...any time my students (I teach high school) talk about going tanning, I show them a picture of him illustrate the dangers.

I think this new season will get better with repeated viewings and you start finding all of the little hidden jokes and small things that really tie each episode together, much like the original series and all the foreshadowing and running jokes that you wouldn't have really noticed until you sat down with the DVDs and/or Netflix and watched them in marathon sessions.

I also loved some of the guest star casting. Kristen Wiig as young Lucille Bluth was wonderful and having Henry Winkler's son Max play the young Barry Zuckercorn was genius.

Portia's new face was a bit jarring at first, but then it highlighted a bit of irony when you consider all the talk of plastic surgery.
