Anyone know anything aboth this show, any rehersal reviews, running time?
I haven't heard much about it. But, I am seeing it next Saturday (I am very excited) and will try to give the running time, etc. if someone has yet to do so.

Don't know much about this production. I know the play itself, and I don't care for it, but that's not what you asked.
Munk, anything specific that turned you off of the play?
I just think it's pointless and I can't imagine that anyone is going to want to pay $110 to see that play. I understand WHY it's being produced, but it really has no reason to be done.
Rehearsals have been going VERY well, actually. Tonight should be an exciting night!
I see. I can't say I am too familiar with the play, I only know the basic plot. But, I am sure I will be able to understand your points once I have actually seen the show. I also did NOT spend $110 on my tickets (go $36.25 balcony!). The question is, as you've brought up, whether the tourist community will.
One of the main reasons I am excited is to see Liev Schreiber perform. I never got a chance to see GLENGARRY GLENN ROSS so this will be my first time seeing him live. Judging by the plot summary that I've read, the play itself seems interesting. I'll post my thoughts once I've seen it.

I enjoy Liev, too.
I'm going tomorrow night and will post my thoughts afterwards.
i still can't decide between this and curtains.
tell us how it is! =)
The talkin' broadway board does not list this rush info yet (but I believe talkinbroadway to be rarely up-to-date)...
On Talk Radio's telecharge page under "getting tickets" it has information for a $26.25 student rush 2 hours prior to curtain, 2 per valid ID, subject to availability.
However, it does not say where in the house the rush tickets are located. Based on the history of the Longacre (which I tried to search - ie, for Well and ...Virginia Woolf of late), or based on what you've heard, does anyone know for sure where the rush tickets are located?
Saw this last night and if I had to sum it up in one word, that word would be "pointless." The whole show was just Liev Schriber sitting in the center of the stage hosting his radio show as you heard a bunch of people call in. Some of the callers were funny, and I did laugh, but the whole time I was thinking, why would producers spend millions to revive this play on Broadway? There were also four monologues by the four main characters throughout the play, which told some backstory, none of which I really cared about. It wasn't a bad play, just pointless in my opinion.
...and Stephanie March was underused (and I didn't love her as much as I thought I would). Schriber was very good in a role I just didn't care about.

That's too bad. Oh well.
Wasn't the original, original incarnation another venue for Bogosian's monologues? Didn't it start out as that, before morphing into the thing that played the Public?
do you think it'd warrant him a Tony Nomination, WithoutATrace?
What other leading actors are up this year for plays? Kevin Spacey and Bill Nighy are probably locks so far. I do think he gave a great performance given the weak (IMO) material, so he could very well get a nom.
Edit: Brian Dennehy and Christopher Plummer could also be in contention for nominations this year...

I couldn't disagree more. I was at the final dress rehearsal and, save some minor incidentals that will clearly be worked out through the preview period, I was enthralled by the play (especially not knowing much about it going in). It's one of those interesting profile pieces - we spend an evening with a crazy, complex radio host and get to know all the interesting textures of his character and life, all the while seeing it through the vein of talk radio and mass media (15 minutes of fame, wanting to make your voice heard across the airwaves).
It's not one of those plays that wears it's themes on it's sleeve, and I'm a mega-dramaturgy freak and tend to pick up on those things even when the performances aren't quiet there yet, so I could see how all the textures wouldn't be coming across this early in previews.
That being said, I'm not too worried. They do have almost a month.
IMHO, I think it's a really interesting and unique play in a season of interesting and unique plays. I'm glad to see it on broadway...
I haven't seen the production, but my feelings on the play echo WAT's sentiments. I re-read the play a few months ago in anticipation of the revival, and I posed the same questions as he did. Why spend millions on reviving THAT play? I'll see it, but I have little to no interest.
Munkustrap178, I don’t know about that… I've seen the show and also read the play a while back. What I found most surprising was how many textures came out during the performance that I didn’t at all register from reading the script. There’s something about seeing the show live and in motion that takes all these small seemingly insignificant pieces and adds them up into something surprisingly powerful. Honestly, I’m still digesting it all, but I had a pretty nice time, and I expect things will deepen significantly over the next few weeks.
