bww says they're offering them when the box office opens, but I don't know if that still pertains since they're basically selling out every night...Has anyone rushed *lately* and could you tell me what time you got in line and what your seat ended up being?
And to anyone who has already seen it, I have another question: In your opinion, would purchasing two premium tickets for $700 off telecharge be ridiculous? haha. I think I know the answer to that but I'd like to here it out loud.

The student rush tickets are held aside to be sold to students each morning, so even if they are sold out, there will be rush tickets available.
Thanks.
Has anyone done this yet? Does it get crazy and do people start lining up at like 9?
If you get there at 9am, you probably won't get tickets...try 7am or earlier.

I haven't done rush, but I have seen the show and I would strongly discourage you from paying for premium tickets. I would consider this show to be worth seeing with a rush ticket, but nowhere near worth $350 per ticket. I'm honestly not even sure it was worth my regular full priced ticket.

Has it actually been that crazy lately, or are you just assuming? Because the last thing I read on here about rush said that people who had gotten to A STEADY RAIN well after 9am still got tickets. Granted, that was before opening, but if it's not crazy, then telling people to get there super early is what will start everyone getting there super early.

A premium seat close to the stage is worth its price, as it gets you close enough to see the full acting virtuosity of the two actors. You can see the full range of facial expressions ( especially the particularly emotional climax) and body gestures! Just like seeing them acting on the big screen, except they are in front of you!
I sat Row B second seat off the aisle on orch right and did not pay a premium price. If you have a disposable income, by all means indulge and enjoy yourself - but paying premium price, which is the equivalent of three regularly priced $120 tickets is a bit absurd to rationalize (even with the disposable income).
7 am, omg.... Please tell me that's you being sarcastic, and if you're serious, well, F___ that. Has anyone here done this recently????
And yeah, up close facial expressions and spit are not worth $700. I just can't do it, I don't think I'd be able to live with myself if I paid that much for them.
7 a.m. is nothing. I have heard of people rushing for shows (not A Steady Rain) as early as 3 and 4 a.m. (and sometimes the night before if it was someone's last performance).

I did rush a few weekends ago- after a failed attempt at Next to Normal- and was in line at 8am, and I was the third person there. The other two people had also migrated from N2N. This was a Saturday. It might have been an anomaly, but it wasn't bad at all.

Just FYI, I think the rush seats are in the last row of the balcony. So if you're interested in seeing detail and facial expressions, it would be worth it to splurge.

Oh, hell no. HELL NO. There is no one's play on earth that I would wait that long in line to get rush tickets to. You kids are crazy.

The Schoenfeld doesn't have a balcony, it has a mezzanine. Amd yes, that is where the student rush seats are located. As for inability to see facial expressions, you are wrong. The Schoenfeld is small, and you can see just fine from the last row.

Hey Revolutionary--The night I saw A Steady Rain, I stopped by the box office just for the hell of it about an hour before the show and asked if they had anything good. They came up with a great sixth row ticket, side center aisle, and I took it for $125, which was still a lot. It's really crazy to do the premium thing...

Chances are that if there are empty premium seats available towards the curtain time and people are waiting to buy tickets, they will release them at the standard rate just to sell them. This has happened to me a few times...
As for this show, I was at the box office last night (Thursday) and there were people waiting for student rush and standing room. They sold the last of the student rush tickets 2 minutes before the 8 pm curtain. They had a number of Standing room seats available but I decided that I was too tired to stand so I walked over to Memphis (which started late last night) and got a rush seat at 8 pm.
That standing room has been pretty nude as of late.
