It seems like she has become more respected on here after her stunning performance in On The Twentieth century. It's nice to see her gaining more fans.

No, I can't say it has. I still think she's wonderfully talented and rather desperate for bigger fame and success.

As I sai in the Dolly thread, I had only seen her in Promises, Promises before and was not that big of a fan. Now I cannot wait to see what she does after OT20C and her concert tour and really hope she returns to Broadway in something!

Didn't Idina start that fight though by taking that comment in a wrong way?

"It seems like she has become more respected on here after her stunning performance in On The Twentieth century. She has always had the up most class, but for some reason, It's as if only now people are discovering just how talented she is. Perhaps her Promises Promises performance is what was shying people away or all those exaggerated rumors about her in Wicked. In any case, It's nice to see her gaining more fans."
It seems....only to you. No one here is "just discovering" how talented she is. No one is shying away from her regardless of her mis-casting in PROMISES, PROMISES or the exaggerated rumors about her in WICKED.
To her credit she has branched out into other areas of the entertainment industry and has made quite a name for herself. No one can take that away from her. Her achievements speak for themselves.
This thread and it's presumptions are extremely laughable.

What makes you think she is desperate? I've never gotten that impression from her. She has an emmy award I think, I don't what she would be desperate about. Even losing the tony didn't seem to phase her.

Not really. Type in Kristin Cheno in the archives, there's not many positive things people have posted about her in the past.

She's not desperate about fame or success as she already has both. Thank you very much.

Actually yes for me it has. Admittedly I had never seen her live on stage before, just TV/movies and youtube videos etc and I found her to be really annoying. However, having see her on stage in OTTC my opinion changed, she was amazing. I still dont rate her on screen, but on stage I thought she was outstanding and deserved the Tony more than Kelli in my view

Those are people's OPINIONS, and you know what they say about those, right?
I'm sure there are an equal amount if not more that speak positively about her.
I am not going to gauge anyone's talent based on the opinions of anonymous internet users.
Anyone can log in and start typing negative things about anyone and it doesn't make it fact.
PUH-LEASE.

Yes but Kristin wasn't competing with Kelli's performance. She was competing with Kelli's entire body of work. The standing ovation Kelli got proves this. That does unfortunately make it unfair and yes I thought Kristin deserved the award also. But both women are both talented and neither needed a tony to prove that.

Why all the hate for her, though?

Hate is a strong word. I don't think people hate her but I got the feeling people thought she was annoying and a diva during her wicked days. People wouldn't stop talking about how she was "absolutely horrible" during the wicked tony campaign.

My opinion has certainly changed. Now I think the only roles she's suitable for are characters who's faces don't move.

Didn't she say though that she didn't care if she didn't win for Wicked? She seemed happy for Idina. I love her, but I heard Idina wasn't the nicest at times during Wicked, as well.

Who knows. So many stories were made up and exaggerated about those 2 in wicked. I really don't care. Both have moved on.
My opinion has certainly changed. Now I think the only roles she's suitable for are characters who's faces don't move.
She'd make a wonderful wall in The Fantasticks.

My opinion of her has not changed, as I adored her prior to this season and still adore her. In fact if anything, I love her even more! I can't count the times I've listened to her Veronique on my phone!

Loved her before, love her even more now!! She needs to do Broadway more often!! What was all the Wicked drama? I didn't hear any of that

No. I always thought she was shrill and schticky and one-note, even in her beloved turn in WICKED. I still do now. Great voice, though. But I wish she'd stop "cruising on her tics"-- to quote everyone's favorite Theater Talk guest/NY Post reviewer.
And she's desperate for fame, indeed. The new face says it all.

Is everyone who wants plastic surgery desperate for fame? That's a pretty large statement you made there. What has Kristin done that makes her desperate? Trying to get work on TV? Broadway? Film? God she's so desperate. How dare she try and be on a sitcom! The nerve of her!

It's not the plastic surgery. It's the BAD plastic surgery and the orange spray-on tan.

So by this logic every woman who has undergone the knife is desperate for fame. It has nothing to do with wanting to improve upon their looks.

I really didn't enjoy her performance in OTTC as much as I was expecting to. Did it alter or change my opinion of her? No. Just bought a ticket, this week, to her concert in November. Now if she was smart, she got a great attorney and made a fortune from The Good Wife incident.
