Heathers West End

Saw the show on Thursday knowing very little about it. Purposely avoided listening to the album and hadn’t seen the movie.

It really was fantastic. The whole thing from start to finish had me very entertained. This is quite an unusual thing for the West End for an off West-End show like this to have a transfer to a much larger theatre. Most transfers of this scale come from the subsidised sector.

Carrie Hope Fletcher is giving a wonderful performance here, totally knocks it out of the park. There is also what I’m told a “new” number which has been added into act two (I believe it is called “I said no) and it is a true highlight, along with Dead Girl Walking.

A must see for anyone in London!

Did they beef up the production at all? In terms of set design etc

It already was here and couldn't sell enough tickets to stay open. Why would people invest money in it again?

Yeah there is an actual physical set instead of that weird rainbow screen.

I thought the production here was a complete dumpster fire. Terrible direction and design. The book/score were great, and the casting was pretty good, but I thought the production wasn't worth the money. I think the show could do well, and now with a lot of other teen shows doing well, it might be a good time to rethink bringing it in. I think it's probably one of the best new scores in the past 5 years.

I agree about the score. “Candy Store” is hands down my favorite villain anthem of all-time.

I’d love a broadway run. The only thing is that Mean Girls is going to run for at least another 3-5 years, I think. I don’t know if Heathers would do well going against it at the same time.

While emaxman did overreact, this was taken way out of control when people took to Facebook and twitter to bully her further about what she said. It got to the point where they totally stepped over the line and included her employer in tweets about her actions-that is 100% inappropriate. She was called rude names, told she was done working at her place of employment, all because of some post on this website?? Yes, she was justified in blocking the haters and bullies. You don’t know what she’s dealing with.

This makes me sad. For some of the same reasons, I just come here to read and don't post often.

I have to agree-I like to say Heathers is the original Mean Girls actually. But with how well Mean Girls is doing with its first run, compared to how Heathers did...I have to agree. I think bringing it back to New York would be a mistake.

Im only speaking about the actions in this thread. How was she bullied? She literaly asked for peoples opionions and then when they differd from hers she attacked people saying their opionion doesnt matter, and how they dont appreciate theatre.

Yeah, the same thing happened to Janice. Poor Janice.

Take everything with a grain of salt, be open to other options, be able to hold a conversation, and keep the mindset that you'll most likely never meet any of us in person. Keep that in mind and you'll be fine, i think :)

Also, don't use the word homophobic to refer to anything trivial :P

Who knows nowadays. I feel like as much as we try to predict whats coming, whats not coming, and whats a shoe-in for a transfer..we always get a surprise thrown our way.

She did overreact. There’s no denying that. But also, see above...
