im glad it was good because their West End Live performance was really bad; the costumes looked cheap and the singing was all over the place.

Taking one of the blackest comedies ever written and turning it into a tweeny-bubble gum show is offensive and has nothing to do with any other show. Don’t get your backrolls in a twist.

But hey, people like it. Lots of people apparently lol. That’s the beauty of opinions, just like how you enjoyed GTBBT.

Regardless, I didn’t like what I saw of the west end production. I thought it looked cheap AF.

As for the show adaptation of the movie, I’ll agree with you on that. It’s even weirder seeing high schoolers do it. BUT you gotta admit, “Candy Store” is pretty ****ing dope.

I'm going in a couple of weeks and I'm hoping to love it. I grew up watching the movie and it is one of my favorites!

Maybe you should avoid saying "I'd love to know your thoughts" in the future?

Perhaps "I've love to hear from people who will validate my opinion on this show" would work better?

Maybe you shouldn’t ask for people to share their thoughts on the show if you only want to hear opinions that align exactly with yours. So. :) :)

You have a really terrible attitude that has been exhibited on more than one thread now. This is a discussion board. You continually try to police discussions because you're not comfortable with the fact that other people think differently than you and because you think your opinions are fact. I really recommend you stop deluding yourself or that you only voice what you think while looking into a mirror from now own.

"I'd love to know your thoughts as long as they validate and match my own thoughts" might be a better statement for you to use.

I see everything on Broadway and a lot in the West End. I missed this at New World and I wasn’t crazy about the album, but wow is this production incredible. It is the overall most talented cast I’ve ever seen in a West End show and is leagues better than Everybody’s Talking about Jamie, which everyone raves about in London. I am now a huge fan of the main star, Carrie Fletcher. She’s got Idina Menzel league acting-singing chops. I plan to go again in November and I rarely will see a West End show twice.

Big words! Makes me want to look more into the West End production because based off the performance below, I wasn't into it. I can tell they have talent, but I definitely prefer the original choreography.

Lol at Jordan still hating on the show because it wasn't like the movie. Ignore Jordan, if you loved the show then good for you. It has a damn catchy score, some great humour and it DOES still have an off kilter book, just more for a younger musical audience. Jordan claimed it would be dead and never seen again after its Off Broadway run, now it's one of the most popular regional musicals and sold out it's off West End run and looks like it's gonna do just as well in the West End.

I'm sure GTBBT however will never ever be seen again.

Are you suprised? The only opinions she wanted were like minded. She must be a joy.

And yes, I assume she disappeared when her thread about deleting her account did.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

To turn this thread around a little bit - do we think it's possible after the London run there's a chance the show will come back to New York in some form?

I wouldn’t bet on it- Heathers is HUGE in licensing. Probably makes more by being done everywhere than it would doing a limited run in the City proper.

Saw the show on Thursday knowing very little about it. Purposely avoided listening to the album and hadn’t seen the movie.

It really was fantastic. The whole thing from start to finish had me very entertained. This is quite an unusual thing for the West End for an off West-End show like this to have a transfer to a much larger theatre. Most transfers of this scale come from the subsidised sector.

Carrie Hope Fletcher is giving a wonderful performance here, totally knocks it out of the park. There is also what I’m told a “new” number which has been added into act two (I believe it is called “I said no) and it is a true highlight, along with Dead Girl Walking.

A must see for anyone in London!

It already was here and couldn't sell enough tickets to stay open. Why would people invest money in it again?
