The first regional production of Heathers opened a few nights ago at The Ray of Light Theatre in San Fransisco. Anybody seen it/going to see it?

I have a couple of friends who saw the San Francisco production, and they were both completely blown away. Neither of them had ever seen the show though, so they didn't have anything to compare it to.

Was really excited to see this when off Broadway...and chose another show due to time constraints
sf has a decent array of shows
act is doing a little night music
rol doing heathers
a local group is doing grey gardens
shn tour has bom now and Matilda coming

Anyone know anything about the production that starts on July 31 in Philadelphia at The Prince Music Theatre?
was thinking about seeing. I've seen the movie no nothing about the musical.

The musical is entirely different in tone from the movie. Where the movie was a dark comedy, the musical lightens things up and tries to make it more along the lines of, say, Legally Blonde: The Musical. (The dark subject matter is still there, of course, but presented in a goofier, almost "bubblegum" kind of way.)
It may or may not be your cup of tea, but if you're a fan of the movie it's still worth checking out.

I saw the Chicago production last night. A strong cast performing uneven material. When I listened to the album I thought they'd softened Veronica into a musical comedy heroine. The show changed my mind. The libretto has her do terrible things but seduces the audience into her worldview.
My favorite songs are "Dead Girl Walking" and "Seventeen" but another that grew on me was "Fight For Me." To Veronica it's a sincere love ballad but it takes place during a brutal fist fight. She's romanticizing J.D's violence and asking the audience to do the same. She's about as innocent as Mrs. Lovett. Winning the crowd over may be the most subversive thing about the show.

Figured I would share some info with my fellow Heather's fans! White Plains Performing Arts Center is presenting the NY Regional Premiere of Heathers Oct 14-23. Its a 30-40 min train ride from Grand central to the space. Great productions and affordable tickets $25-$35 dollars. www.wppac.com is the ticket link (tickets are also on today tix but their website seems to have better prices then today tix) Figured I would share the info as I just found out about it from a friend who posted some info and videos about it!
