Yeah, I walked right past the madness. I thought he had a totally average voice until tonight. Wow. Oh, the ushers are doing a great job, making sure all phones were off and yelling at people who kept them on when the band came out. After the show, two people tried to take a photo of the stage and an usher literally shined his flashlight in their faces, and made them erase it.

"How's the view from the balcony? I have tickets center row D later this month."
I happened to be on row D of the balcony last night. You absolutely can connect with the energy of neil and the show. obviously you can't see when the action moves to the audience. sometimes, as the heads in rows A,B, and C move or lean forward you miss some. I expect that I am describing the experience from the balcony for any show? (I don't think I've ever been up there.) it was better than nothing. I loved the show, even from the balcony.
btw big shock if Lena Hall isn't Tony nominated. she's pretty amazing, too
@testing POSSIBLE SPOILER
Tommy sings the reprise. And if you listen to the OCR, you should notice that the German accent is gone, replaced by a really specific midwestern one.
Thanks, Hogans ! Thats what I thought---
SPOILER:
**********
So, unless I was too enthralled by the show, that part has been changed---
(Maybe to showcase Lena, who is AMAZING !!!)
SPOILER.....
huh? Are you saying that instead of Hedwig singing the reprise as Tommy (like in the original show), that Yitzak is singing it? Doesn't make sense.
SPOILER:
I think you're talking two different things? Tommy sings in Wicked Little Town (reprise), Yitzak sings in Midnight Radio?
Yea, thats what I was thinking !
SPOILER:
**********
There was definitely a change, but after a long day at work, and sitting right behind the "Sugar Daddy Seat" :))--- I might have not remembered by the time I got home (after midnight, due to the stagedoor insanity--- Yitzak takes the mic--- but I think it might have been during "The Long Grift", with Hedwig singing back-up---
SPOILER
********
It was Yitzak singing (the best version that I have heard) "The Long Grift"---
Telling you---- sitting right behind that BB3 seat took alot out of me !!! :))
The show was amazing!! Went last night (3/31/14) Sat in row AA. Got spit AND squashed tomato on me - LOVED IT!!!! NPH was phenomenal, as was Lena Hall! I look forward to seeing it again!!

"It was Yitzak singing (the best version that I have heard) "The Long Grift"-"
SPOILER
In the original, Stephen Trask sings that part of Long long Grift, while Hedwig is putting on a short blond bob, then Hedwig joins Yitzak on the mic and they both sing the rest of the song.

Jane2, You better march right down to the Belasco and demand no changes are made in the show. How dare they! If this doesn't work, call the authors and complain. If this doesn't work, picket the theatre and hand out the original script as people walk into the theatre!
the "director" needs a hug. anyone?
There's always someone who has to turn a thread into something ugly.
Actually, I think what Jane2 described is more or less what happens with this song on Broadway now?
I wish I were seeing it before the 30th. It's getting such good word of mouth I can't wait!
It is---- I still attribute my confusion to that darn bb3 seat!!!!
Going back next week--- ( Amy Ray time first!)
show is amazing!!!

So first, I was as absolutely blown away by the show as most are saying here. Worth every penny and I'll be back repeatedly (in seats closer to my actual budget!) - I honestly was kind of shellshocked by it in the best possible way and think I'm going keeping thinking and processing for a while. But there's some confusion or some April Fools-ing or NPH is switching it up, because I had seat BB 3, and the one everyone's talking about is BB 1 - or was tonight. It didn't impede my enjoyment of the show in the least, but I didn't want anyone to specifically buy that seat only or mostly for that reason.
Thanks so much to all who have posted here! I probably would have held out for more official reviews before splurging, but I'm so glad I did so I had the chance to really watch them work up close and will still have time to go back and get the bigger picture.
No prank, that's what our experience was last night. I guess he is switching between BB 1 and 3. Was the person who got humped a dude?
Spamalot often changed the seat they used for the audience participation, too.
He seemed to hold on to the wires hanging next to those seats, so I don't think he can mix it up all that much... but yeah, it was BB3 on Monday night. Didn't mean to mislead.
