@dramamama611: Thanks for that information. I will tweak my settings.
@Liza's Headband: I deleted the odious message immediately after reading it. Basically he wished me death and he would, like Diana Morales in A CHORUS LINE feel...NOTHING. I'm literally over here in tears....of laughter, and then made some passive/aggressive comment about how I probably wouldn't be able to see the message because I had him "blocked" which he obviously made because he felt that because he was able to PM me that I really had not blocked him, but the joke is on him because he truly is blocked. Now I have to block him from private messaging and I won't have to be subjected to his miserable presence ever again.

There is a theater in San Francisco ( I believe called The Post?) which is part of a hotel and would be so perfect. I remember seeing Dame Edna there about 16 tears ago and thinking the place had the same vibe as the Jane.
@Jane Was it Michael Cerveris I saw in the LA production of Hedwig? I know I loved whoever it was.
Dame, yes, and he was my favorite after JCM:.What's interesting is that Matt McGrath was his understudy. Matt never had gone on yet when he flew back to NY to take over after Ms. Sheedy was gone. Matt saved the show, it got a rave from Brantley, and ran for three more months.
wow thanks for that, Haterobics. So now how many times did I see Michael do that song? As many times as he did it, and every single time, I teared up. For me, Midnight Radio sums up the whole meaning of the story.
Very cool. @Jane Did you work with the show during the LA run?
Well, let's put it this way. When you're the house manager, you're managing that particular house for whatever show comes in. So it's only working with Hedwig while it was there in NY. Next was Tick Tick Boom, I believe.
You must have some great stories. How were the Ally Sheedy days?

If I was president it would not have closed.
Thanks, Obama.
" How were the Ally Sheedy days?"
Dame, don't even ask because her shenanigans were not to be believed. Lots of stories but too horrifying to post.
Oh I would love to hear some Sheedy shenanigans. How about the most memorable one?

Do you have me blocked?
It's the Post Street Theater (which had the first SF sit-down of Spelling Bee), now home to the San Francisco Playhouse.

Thanks Lizzie. I just didn't see your post. So sorry. I don't block people. I think that is silly.

I would too.
There really isn't that much dirt on Sheedy. Jane is exaggerating. The worst Sheedy did was miss performances, change the script and once she had Yitzhak sing one of her songs. That's about it.

I wouldn't question Jane's knowledge of Hedwig. I would actually love for him to write a definitive book on the show and I would be first in line to buy it. It would truy reflect my love of the show.
Oh I'm sure Jane knows alot about Hedwig. It has become quite clear that she (he?) follows the show religiously. But the Allison Sheedy stories have been exaggerated out the wazzoo. Sheedy may have been a bad Hedwig, but she didn't do anything on the level that is "just too horrifying" to mention.

LizzieCurry, I tried to search the capacity of the SF Playhouse. Does it seat only 200? That would be a really intimate show. That performance by Michael Cerveris was gorgeous! His voice holds so much emotion! I like how his voice has a rock edge.
I would SO buy a book by Jane about Hedwig experiences.

Sorry, Hun. YOU DON'T KNOW THE FIRST THING YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. THAT'S ABOUT IT.
To the rest of you guys out there - I would feel so guilty in talking out of the house about her. You know, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
Also, I think Hamilton thinks I only follow Hedwig. I don't think he/she knows I house managed the Jane. And I am a GIRL.

You're right! It had more seats during its Spelling Bee days (which is the only show I've seen there), so I hadn't realized. http://sfplayhouse.org/sfph/venue/

You don't even know her name is Alexandra, not Allison and we should take your opinion over someone who was the house manager and there every night? Yeah, OK, right.
By the way, Hamilton Toots - Ally Sheedy's real name is Alexandra NOT ALLISON.
And yes there were some horrifying things going on on that stage for weeks that wouldn't have lasted overnight in a broadway house.
You don't know nothin'
And I don't follow the show religiously. I followed each and every show that played in my house after Hedwig. While the show is there. Einstein.
