I get that. But I don't get why people who participate in that, which would prevent many many many more people from seeing the show than a single article in the Post, would assume the producers would keep the show running until they could get somebody else later on who would make them happy. It's the entitlement thing.
As to the other point, let's start a thread blaming Judy McLane for closing Mamma Mia!. THANKS JUDY MCLANE.
Namo I'm concerned, do you have no life outside of this site? Are things really bad for you, maybe people in the real world are mean to you, ignore you, talk behind your back? Do you sit at home and pray for the day that somebody, anybody will love you for who you are? Do you break down when your internet connection goes down and you can't reach for your smart phone to jump on every thread on Broadway World? Namo are you ok?
You have gone from mildly irritating to grand levels of annoying. You seem to constantly want to jump on every other person who shows passion or love for something or someone. They become obsessed, scary, stupid etc in your eyes, so you enter the thread and then bash away, even coming out with absurd comments about racism like in this one (nobody on here thought this had anything to do with an African American Hedwig, just some thought his performance has done the show no favours), bringing up racism says more about you. If people don't pay attention though it's fine, you just post something else passive aggresive or try to come across as smarter than others by typing well crafted sentences that often have little reality to do with whatever it is you or others are talking about. You spend so much time on here acting like a nasty, snarky jumped up nobody that I get concerned for your actual life away from here.
You bash Headband on here (who I have no love for) but you accuse him of doing EXACTLY what you do. Example
'No, a troll is someone who posts in order to stir up trouble.
BINGO Jane! Nobody here needs the devil's advocacy, the "contrary by nature" self appointed consistency monitor behavior of the Headcase. Don't call us, Headbanned, we'll call you'
its time to take a good look in the mirror. Nearly every thread you post on your contribution leans towards negative, passive aggresive or just plain insulting to someone. You think you are better than Headband? You are not. I'm sick of reading threads about things I enjoy only to get part way down and see you doing your 'schtick', it's old and borderline sad.
Sorry, just had to get that out. I very much look forward to a passive aggresive response or idiotic insult or reasoning that you have made up in your bitter head.

I don't understand why it is entitlement to want a Hedwig who seems capable of delivering the show at a certain level. I didn't say Taye did poorly in the role out of some larger objective, but merely because I went, saw him, and he didn't bring it. Plus, it is a show that has kept afloat through a successive casting of "name" actors, which makes it valid to expect another name to follow and to hopefully do better.

Songanddance, I post what I actually believe. I really don't think you have any idea about race in the US.
In this thread, if people can't see that telling people the show is now awful is more of a factor in its closing than an article in the Post, I don't know what to say. People want to tell people not to see the show and then be crestfallen when it closes. I just feel like true "supporters" of the show, at least at the levels of hysteria they're now posting would suggest, wouldn't have done that.

I think blaming BWW or the Post is inflating the influence of both.
So you really believe racism had something to do with the show closing or attitudes on this thread then? You are so full of s**t, you post either what you think will get a reaction (which is just depressing for you) or things to insult. That's who you are, that's what you do.

Ohhhhh song. A troll posts to stir up trouble. I have never argued a point I don't sincerely believe. I have never taken a stance to be a contrarian, to be the devil's advocate, which is what the person you're comparing me to even though you have no love for him, has claimed about his posts.
I'm not sure if you were here during the period he spent giving details about the wrong person, claiming he was me, but it was quite remarkable. You might have been on one of your long absences. In any event, The Banned is a very special case and your commentary really doesn't touch what has been going on there.
I believe race impacts EVERYTHING in this country.
Also, no one cares about Madonna's tour. At least not enough people for it to break even.
ETA: I think blaming BWW or the Post is inflating the influence of both.
Watching a person with the analytical powers of a gnat post a "What am I GOING TO DO with Hedwig closing thanks a LOT Taye" was what motivated me to step in. Paul McCartney broke up the Beatles, but it was the woman of color who still takes the blame.

Well, yeah, we see outsized reactions anytime any show posts a closing anymore, it seems...

It's how I felt when the New David Cinema closed.
But I didn't blame the stars of "Rangers" from Surge Studios.
I wouldn't inflate the person who made that closing because of Taye post more than I would inflate a gnat. One remark fr who the hell knows has no impact on the show.
it was a silly remark , you're silly to even pay attention to it and this is only a thread on a chat board which has many varied opinions.

This is why I feel so bonded with some of you. And PJ mentioned the Adonis the other day. I feel as we have all met in the 80's. But I probably didn't see your faces then either.

Yep, I'm sure I must have run into some of you too. The early 80's were fun.

'I believe race affects everything in this country'
Wow, I just can't. That was such a generic answer, I'm disappointed. Why people side with you is just odd to me.
And sorry I didn't see all of what Headband was doing to you (I got the idea), honestly I think it would have been more outrageous if he was doing that to any of the other lovely posters on here rather than somebody who spends his days giving it out to everybody else. Why he was trying to track you down I will never know, the reality I'm sure would have been as sad as your onscreen persona. And yes I missed a lot of the Headband and you drama because (A) I couldn't be bothered with it because im an adult (B) I have a life away from this board unlike you it would seem.
and what the hell does Madonna have to do with anything on this thread? That's your go to with me, I'm a big Madonna fan so to get a reaction (which sadly you don't) you mention her? It's odd it just shows a desperation, clutching to anything you can to avoid the sad truth....you are a troll, just like Headband you are a troll. You come here to say things to get a reaction, do you even go to the theatre?

Siding with me? Sometimes some people agree with what I say. Sometimes some people don't. don't. Sometimes its more of the former or more of the latter. It's not a contest or a game with points and sides.
You know what song? It doesn't matter what you witnessed or not. And I don't care one way or the other what ypu have to say about me or your concern trolling about the status of my life. It's a slippery slope when message board posters make presumptions about the quality of other message board posters' lives. One that you and your friend the Headbanned slide right down. That's fine, it's just never a tactic I've used and won't.
Madonna's still flopping. And I'm at a theater season kick off party right now. Do you only post from your home? There are other options now. People post from subways, while waiting for friends to meet them for smart dinner parties. Before the orgy starts. Also, I've seen the Broadway production of a Hedwig three times? You ?
At least the show's going on tour. I wonder who they'll cast.

Jonathan Groff! He's gay, cost effective AND family friendly thanks to Frozen.

I'm gonna guess he'd cost too much and has too much other stuff going on. Same with Joey MacIntyre.

How is Headband my friend? I can stand his posts, he's worse than you.
I'm not going to enter in to a Madonna discussion with you so stop trying, it's really quite lame.
And nope I didn't see Hedwig ( I will be seeing the London one) , and of course you can post on here from anywhere. I just thought you came here to discuss everything other than theatre ( unless you are insulting someone's taste).
Im im glad you don't care what anybody has to say about you. However people care about how you jump on them, so maybe use your time a little more productively.

Listen: It's not my issue if you don't see my theater posts. It is however your issue if you think your not seeing things I post is some deficiency on my part.
Time for you to question your biases and how you presume to fill in the blanks about my theater-going life and my personal life. That's all on you.

"I just thought you came here ..."
you thought wrong. Unless you think I should be posting about theater on the off topic board. In fact my contributions in this thread were on topic til you dragged it off.
Madonna is marginally talented.

Family-friendly? My three-year-old nephew would LOVE this show!
