Helen Hayes (Xanadu) Seat Question

Hey everyone,
I'm thinking of going to see Xanadu this week but I remember going to the Helen Hayes for Kiki and Herb and recall the seats being extremely uncomfortable and tight (I'm a person of bigger size and it was unbearable). I know they renovated it, but are the seats the same? Thanks for any info.

Sit on stage, there is no other place to sit...You will have the time of your life on stage....One of the best nights of my life!!!!
Im 6ft8 and there is plenty of room on stage seating.
Seating in theatre looked quite cramped.

The seats at the Helen Hayes are like any other older broadway house. If you sit on the stage, you do miss a great dea.

I don't know why but the seats at the HH seemed more cramp than any other broadway house and I've been to most.

I've only seen it from the orchestra (8 times) from various vantage points. I am an "oversized" guy and I've never felt unreasonably crowded.

I've only seen it from the stage, but i don't think the seats looked any more crowded than normal.

Try N 101...or 102 or 103.. the sound booth is right behind you (Don't worry, they are very quiet) and there's no one behind u (the set the board up high) so you can even stand (provided you are not 7 feet tall) if you feel too cramped, or just want to dance!

I FINALLY MADE IT!! Sorry for the shouting, but I finally was able to purchase a ticket for "Xanadu". I'm in rapture. I had thought of getting a regular seat, but I decided to be wild and go for a stage seat. I got a Seat 1 for the Wednesday, June 11th perf at 8:00 p.m. Would some knowledgeable person let me know where this particular seat is located, among the stage seats? thanks a bunch... Now, I have a ticket for "Gypsy" and "Xanadu". I'm debating whether to get a ticket for A Chorus Line. Is the thought of seeing Mario Lopez in tight pants really worth it? I'm debating whether to also see "Spamalot",but I also want to see an off-Broadway show as well. Decisions, decisions... from RC in Austin, Texas... where it's a nice 73 F.

If you are open to the onstage seating, I say go with that. I'm not sure how some of these people are saying the seating was not cramped but I'm only 5'7" and those seats were even too cramped for me. Not only are the rows a bit too close to one another but the seat backs extend all the way to the floor so there is no way to stretch your legs. I sat in the stage seats the second time I went and it was still a great view. Yes, you miss a little here and there but I didn't think it was a big issue, some of the people that were with me saw the show for the first time that night and they both loved it.

As far as seat 1, they seat you once you get there so there is no assigned seating. The seat number is just a placeholder, does not correspond to an actual seating location.

RC ~ They're all "seat 1" on stage (well, unless you get a couple at a time and then it's "seat 1" "seat 2" etc.). You will be seated by the stage usher ~ the seats there aren't assigned/numbered. But it's totally worth it. Just get in line early. :) Enjoy!!

I respect all opinions, but I've only seen it once from the on stage seats and I must say it felt more of a "behind the scenes" look than the actual show.

Seats are a definitely more comfortable, legroom a bit more managable than pre-renovation. (Legroom used to be really atrocious.) Try for an aisle, though. Really not a bad seat in the house, sightline-wise, except maybe far house left for this show.
