Camera obstructions?   Are they filming?  Could it be?  Are they accommodating a rig?  I don't know anything.  Just friendly speculation.

Could be.  Usually a rig holding the little sliding camera gets placesdin the mezzanine on the side.   Lets hope.  That would be nice.

People were saying on the other thread the side obstructive view mezzanine seats were now being sold.  Those seats in the past have not been labeled as obstructive.  Hence the speculation.

And I don't think those seats were being offered at any price when the original batch of tickets for the return engagement went on sale.   Lets hope that is why!  I would love for this to be filmed.

The production screams “film me”. Add to that If filmed properly, Rudin can sell the TV rights to PBS, and get he and Bette an emmy out if it. Or if Rudin wants to be as inventive and ruthless as he is known to be in awards campaigns he could even possibly fight for Oscar consideration. He has the money, means, and connections to have a filmed version taken seriously unlike Fathom, although this is unlikely. In truth this is just an easy financial win for him, and I would imagine it could easily rival Newsies as the highest earning filmed stage performance at the US domestic box office.

I'm surprised Netflix haven't started some sort of theatre section considering how much money they have.

They could certainly afford to film stuff themselves and it'd do very well I imagine.

Amazon Prime had Falsettos and The Portuguese Kid on recently.

Nothing new. When tickets first go on sale, they don't release the partial view seats on the extreme sides of the front orchestra or mezz. Now they have. For some shows, they were reduced in price, but for every show I looked at, they were the same price.

Dame, what specific dates are you looking at.  I do see that the extreme side Orch seats that were RUSH for BP, are discounted now, listed as partial view.

I am referencing the earlier Dolly partial view thread . I believe they were for newly labeled partial seats in the mezzanie . I’m on a airplane and it took 10 minutes for the little ball to roll so I can try answering you.

I was able to get Hello Dolly for Wednesday mat at 100.75 orch row F 17 and 19. It did say obstructive view though. It is a steal.

How did we get from obstructed partial view seats to this meaning they are filming the show?! If they were filming it, they would do it with an invited house, and just not put people behind their equipment...

We got to it by me simply  asking a few questions sprinkled with wishful thinking .  Sometimes you just  have to let your hair down and stop being so tight .

That’s not true.  He likes making money .  And Bette is great at getting her projects filmed .  I’m hoping it’s the real reason for her short return.

I'm all for it being filmed. I just don't know how that syncs up with them releasing partial view seats on the extreme sides of the orchestra. Just two disconnected things.
