Now Amour isn't the shortest run of this century! Hooray!
I bought tickets to the last performance of this show months and months ago. Crazy! I'll be there Sunday night!

Not really that surprising to me.
But, what do we think will move into the Imperial next?

Posted: 12/12/06 at 6:56pmStories have already circulated that Coram Boy, a transfer from the National Theatre of Great Britain, will take the Imperial in the spring. And Billy Elliot has been announced for the Imperial for the fall of '08.

I thought Billy Elliot already hasclaim to it. Wouldn't HIgh Fidelity have had to move if it ran long? I thought that was announced some time ago.
Anyways, I love the way people freak out when a show closes. They're 9 times out of 10, crappy shows anyways. WHy not be happy for the chance of something better?
BUT WHAT ABOUT THE ACTORS!!!!!!!

Honestly, I feel that this one doesn't even deserve a thread. Considering the heavy, heavy speculation having been tossed roundabout on various B'way sites throughout, everyone had a guess, but yeah...Only few of us claimed 12.17. I'm sure Mr. Chase will find a better outlet for his talents (we can only hope, right?) Contrary to popular belief, I am a fan of his work, please take note. I also feel that he deserves better than being the only 'guiding light' of HIGH FIDELITY. Hopefully, the 17th will be a solid performance.
Best,
- Mike

Ssssssssssssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Bryan might hear you!
And that's great news for Coram Boy. I think it's a great play. And I actually applaud High Fidelity for throwing in the towel. Unlike, other annoying lingerers like In My Life and Hot Feet, High Fidelity actually knew that its chances weren't so good. I applaud them for bowing graciously and not trying to desperately stay open.

Posted: 12/12/06 at 7:00pmI did not think it would close this quickly. I am a little suprsied. Brooklyn ran longer and had worse reviews.

Posted: 12/12/06 at 7:08pmBrooklyn had a small cast and lower running costs.

Billy Elliott was already slated to be coming in next. But it'll leave the theatre empty for a while.
Best of luck to the actors. This was quick!

Posted: 12/12/06 at 7:35pmWow this is really surprising to me. Sure this isn't the best show on broadway, but I've seen much worse shows have longer runs. Good luck to the cast, I hope they all get in other shows right away.
