I can't stop listening to it. The cell phone ringing on "Ian's Here" sent me diving for my cell phone the first time...

Mine is in the mail! I can't wait to get it.
CATS- the first time I saw the show I got so angry because I thought someone's cell phone was ringing.
There are random beeps in She Goes that always make me think I have a text message.
random question but I ordered my copy at the show - should I assume that this is coming in the mail??? I really really WANT THIS ONE!

Been listening non stop to the cast album. I love in particular "last record store "nine percent chance" " goodbye and goodluck" and "laura laura". has anyone else heard the album who hasn't posted here yet. Would love to hear what you guys think. I think the score is great and def deserves a tony nomination.
I *love* it. I'm fairly certain I am going to listen to this obsessively. I loved the show when I saw it, and I laughed my ass off. (That is always good in my book!) Give the show a chance.
Renthead I ordered mine at the show too and I am pretty miffed that I ordered it in December and people who ordered it recently have it, yet I do not.
So if I ordered it today do you think it'd ship immediately?
Hey everyone, I've heard from the Merchandise company that they will be shipping the preorders taken from the theater this week.
Thanks Zan!
you're very welcome!

Love it....though I agree with whoever said that the orchestrations seem a little....empty.
This is so FUN

I completely disagree with the person who said the orchestrations sound empty. It sounds like a 10 piece rock band. I don't think they meant for it to imitate an orchestra. For instance, "Goodbye and Goodluck" sounds exactly like the "Born to Run" arrangments Springsteen used- even down to the glockenspiel- roy bittan- effects. The "last real record store" sounds inrcredibly full and during the " we've got blues and soul and R&B section" the guitars are massive-def an homage to "The Who". I love the lightness of the "Laura, Laura" section with the high organ and string pads and stabs and they nail the country tune. The" conflict resolution" sound sexacty like GnR, BeastieBoys, and Eminem. I think you have to be aware of the bands they are paying props to in order to appreciate how skillfully they have recreated their sound.
I have heard the album probably 4 times now both in my car and on my ipod and it is def one of the best sounding recordings of a show I have heard. It does not sound like they skimped on any of the production. I've heard cheap cast recordings and this is not one of them!

I received my CD today and it is just awesome! I saw the last matinee of the show and I couldn't wait to hear the score again! The orchestrations are just right, not too full, not too empty. The cast sounds great as well. It's a great thing this score was preserved because it definitely could work in regional theatres. It was a shame this show had such a short run on broadway, it was just bad advertising. This CD is a must buy!

I never said the orchestrations seemed "empty," just a bit thin. Do you honestly think I'm one of the (many) posters on here who listen exclusively to Broadway showtunes and have never heard the bands High Fidelity imitates? Yes, I have heard them, and yes, I still feel they could have upped the instrument backing a bit. magicfingers, you're free to disagree with me, but the absolute insistence that your opinion is correct and the implication that I'm not familiar with an artist such as Springsteen isn't necessary. I remember a similar pattern of posts from you during the show's run.

Yes...Thin was the word I was looking for.
Thanks.
It's so adorable when people think a disagreeing opinion is a personal attack.

... who are you? Considering he posted implying that I wasn't "aware of the bands they are paying props to" and has a history of posting to absolutely insist that his opinions on this musical are correct, my reaction was valid. I never said he personally attacked me as much as he attacks anyone who has a semi-negative comment about any aspect of this show. Feel free to search his post history.

Haven't received mine yet, but I'm so glad people have been liking the cd. I've only been waiting for it since I saw the show. In October.

WOW...didn't mean to personally attack you. I just had a different opinion. Yes, I was a big fan of the show and I make no apologies for defending it- considering the unfair attacks on it's score etc...I def don't think the orchestrations are thin- they are just right in my opinion. Part of the reason i enjoyed the show so much was because it was so different from any musical I had seen on Broadway. So glad they recorded the show and glad everyone else is enjoying it as much as I have.
I, too, am ticked that I paid in cash for my CD in December, and yet people who clicked "Buy Now" a few days ago have already received theirs while I'm stuck stalking my mailman. I saw the show in Boston and have been anxiously awaiting the recording since, and hearing that pre-orders weren't priority upsets me. =(

Can someone please tell me if the High Fidelity Soundtrack will be available on ITUNES? That would really help boost sales and publicity for a show that was unjustly, violently abused by the critics. I love this score and hope it gets a Tony nomination!

A friend of mine who ordered the CD at the theater got his copy yesterday.
So yes, they're shipping.
