I can't recall this show ever being on Broadway.
I hope so!!! It's the best musical since CAROLINE, OR CHANGE.
I've heard that Pippin, Once, Kinky Boots, and the Lion King will be closing after the summer, and Les Miserables and A Time to Kill will not open next season to make way for the revivals that will take over 45th street, High School Musical, Scandalous, Triumph of Love, Carrie, Leap of Faith, Donny & Marie: A Broadway Christmas, Jekyll & Hyde, and Rags
Seriously?? Thank god. I hate Kinky Boots.

I heard most of the Japanese cast would be performing in the revival.

So, you are mocking yourself and your own thread?
That's different.
Believe it or not, they sold the first year of licensing for High School Musical to school/community groups under the guise of getting feedback on the stage version for a Broadway run. That run never came. You do the math.
I was one of those schools that produced the show when it first came out. It was dreadful. Whomever adapted it had NO idea how to do so, nor what the typical school situation is able to do. (The kids had a great time, but they were only in middle school.)
I also took MY kids to see the tour of it and it was still awful.
Thank god it never made it to b'way.
And I have to ask: how old are you?
I heard Disney is contemplating a mega HSM show - ala Nicholas Nickelby. People survive HSM and HSM2, break for dinner, and then perhaps come back for HSM3 and Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure.

Well if BRING IT ON can make it on Broadway...
I'd rather see Senior Year on Broadway, it's my favorite HSM, and out of the three I think it's the one with the most potential for a stage show.
But BIO DIDN'T "make it" on b'way.
