There are very few people at the stage door....and they ALL come out at the same time. But they're very friendly.
When I took a peek at the stage door last time I went, it seemed like there were quite a few people milling around waiting for autographs after the matinee. I didn't bother since it was crowded and raining. We'll see how it goes tomorrow. Funny that they all come out at once. Could be a challenge snagging them all (and on the rare occasion that I do stage door, I like to get everyone...well, obviously I don't think I'd loose too much sleep over the make-up woman, but if I got 7 of the 8 boys, that'd definitely irk me!)

If it counts, I got everyone except Stephen Campbell Moore....that pisses me off.
They also sell the play at the theatre, thats where I bought it when I first went to see it.
And yes, they do all come out at once (or very close together) but they are such sweet people.
you catch a lot more after you've read the play. If i'd listened to the radio broadcast and NOT known the play, i woulda missed a lot.
i think
Well there's also whole bits of dialogue in the written play that are not in the play as seen on the Broadway stage.
in my experience, yes, the history boys all come out of the stage door at once, but usually hang out, chatting with each other and fans.

I completely agree that reading the script after having seen the play not only brings it back to life but shows up subtle points missed on first viewing. I know because I have seen it 30 times - both in London with the cast that is now on broaadway and with the other cast that toured England while "your" cast were making the film, due out in autumn - sorry "the fall".
The radio play - now available on a BBC CD - was, like the film is going to be, "based" on the play. The entrance of Hector having arrived on his bike and has his gloves, scarf, "blouson d'aviateur" and helmet removed could not have been done on the radio. Also from a short scene from the film that was broadcast in UK on an arts programme a few months ago the camera gets in very close to the actors - in this case the very poignant one with Hector and Posner towards the end of the first half - even closer than my having sat in the front row of the stalls many times.
Some of the accents also make it difficult to catch all the words, so reading the play afterwards might clarify. Does anyone know if the translation of the French brothel scene is included? I only caught about 30% of the French that was spoken onstage.
The ensemble work by this cast is AMAZING>
It isn't translated in the script. But the French is very basic.
Was I totally blind or did they just put the opening night video up on Broadway.com???
Anyway, here's the link...gotta love those boys!
History Boys Opening Video

CONGRATS
there is HOPE for CQ seeing the history boys!
i'm so excited
Is there really, CQ? Good for you!
That video was really cute. As if I needed more reason to be smitten with Jamie Parker and Dominic Cooper!...I'd been popping on Broadway.com and looking for the video every couple days, but I didn't see anything for it. Then lo and behold! I was on there looking at the Lestat video (...I was curious to see the "drunk" Fischer kid...not nearly as amusing as I'd hoped) and voila, there was the HB opening vid!!
THERE ARE NO PICTURE OF JAMIE PARKER ANYWHERE!!
goodness...
anyway- yeah. i MIGHT be able to get to NYC end of July. but than i'd have to scrunge up some mulah!
I just watched the Bway.com video.
i bookmarked it.
