Regardless, like an actor playing a role way younger has never happened. Come on people.
There has to be some level of believability, especially when Max's age and virginity are important parts of the movie. Aaron can play one of those goons who steal Max's shoes.
If one of those goons was an adult male in his late 20s, sure.
Tveit can no longer play a teen. Come on people. Dude's nearly 30 and looks like it- hence why he's been playing adult roles.
Then, let him be the zombie.
Dreamcasting bugs me sometimes. It becomes mocking or too predictable and has little to do with the original piece.
It might as well be
Older Female - LuPone
Other Older Female - Peters
Male - Tveit
Female - Osnes/Boggess
He can wear a cat suit and play Binx.

I'd like to see Kerry Butler play Sarah Sanderson.
Loved this show! With October 1st around the corner, I had to post. HOCUS POCUS always sets the mood for Halloween. Enjoy!
Movie Magic on the Discovery Channel - Hocus Pocus
Hocus Pocus is my favorite Halloween movie. Actually, it's one of my favorite movies, period! I would love to see it as a Broadway musical. Aside from the fact that they would probably not want to commit, I'd love to see the original (movie) Sanderson sisters in the roles. The age of the older sisters isn't really an issue. SJP is older, true, but doesn't she still look good enough to pull it off? She could be a cougar liking the young boys. ; )
I like all of the suggestions, so far. They would all be great. I'm a bit partial to Osnes as Sarah. LuPone would be a hoot as Winifred! Why doesn't Disney do this? And on that note, why hasn't the Disney store ever offered these costumes for Halloween? Have you seen the ones on their site this year for Glinda and The Wicked Witch of the West from "OZ the Great and Powerful?"
^ Patty O"Furniture, I love your board name!
Winifred- Patti Lupone
Sarah- Laura Benanti
Mary- Mary Testa
Beef up the role of Billy and give it to Kudish
Maybe they could get Sarah Jessica in the live production and have a side story about how Sarah is slowly turning into a horse.
Aww, that's just cruel.
Yeah, cruel and in poor taste.
The problem is Binx. I think it could be done as a variation of Timon in THE LION KING, or some puppet from TLK. I really think it should be seasonal, like A CHRISTMAS STORY or THE GRINCH. I cannot see it doing well many other times besides late summer/all of autumn.
Is Hocus Pocus the Musical actually in the works or is it just something we are HOPING will happen?
