How Is The Russian "Mama Morton" doing in "Chicago"?

If anyone happens to see the newest Russian "Mama Morton", Larisa Dolina, please share your thoughts. She is on from Aug. 13-18th.

I'm not concerned with those who have no plans to see her, but rather am curious if someone out there does see her.

The stage manager and the rest of the cast are having to work extra hard to slow her down as she recites her lines. They think she's Rushin.

Oh, men! Always pulling legs. Everything is comedy. Oh, how very amusing. How marvelously droll! (I'm surprised no one has mentioned the movie where this quote originated.)

When I saw "Chicago" in June 2012, Brian O Brien went on twice as "Billy Flynn" for an ailing Tony Yazbek. Brian was fantastic! His note in "the...............gun" was especially long. I met him at the stage door. He seemed awfully nice. Then, he rode off in his bicycle.

Just actually saw the show for the first time yesterday with Larisa. (Keep in mind I only have the movie to compare this to)I didn't really plan to see the show. I got a TKTS ticket 30 minutes before for the rear mezz. The orchestra was full I believe, but the mezz was mostly empty. The principles were good. Ensemble for the most part seemed quite bored. Larisa was the highlight of the show for me. She obviously has an accent and at some points it was hard to make out words here and there, but for the most part I understood her. I really liked her strong, well controlled vocals for the part. I believe she may have optioned up in some places but I cant be sure as i'm not super familiar with the score. At the song at the end of When Youre Good to Mama when there is a little room for the actress to ad lib (i.e Wendy's "How you doin?") She said something in Russian. She spoke Russian quite a few times in the show. I'm not sure if that's the norm for others but I would just assume not?

Overall the show was just a little bit uninspiring to me. I feel like it had something to do with the atmosphere in the theatre being a little dull since it was half full. That being said i'm still happy I got to see it. =)

I've never seen Chicago. It's been on my list for years but I've never gotten around to it. Maybe once Wendy sails out I'll finally go.

Diva...she's playing "Mama Morton" in the upcoming (and extensive) "Chicago" national tour...with the first stop being Tacoma, Washington (Aug. 31-Sept. 1. ) Paige Davis is Roxie (at least for part of the tour) and Terra C MacLeod is the tour's Velma. from RC in Austin, Texas

really?? they couldn't find ANYONE else to play Velma. I think at this point I'd welcome back Brenda Braxton.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

There seems to be a lot of cattiness and bitterness towards Larisa Dolina on here. Guys, can we judge her performance solely on its merits? She's just an entertainer (and a fantastic one at that!) who happens to be from Russia, she didn't personally draft and sign their anti-gay legislature!

There doesn't appear to be cattiness and bitterness on this thread. If you are referring to other threads, it is clearly not directed at Larisa Dolina. Or perhaps I am misunderstanding your comment.
