Left just as the rain began, found a lot of great deals. Haven't tallied up the amount of $ spent yet, but it's a lot less than last year.
Sightings:
Marc Shaiman at the Fame Becomes Me table doing personalized musical phrases from FBM and Hairspray.
Josh Strickland at Tarzan, selling merchandise and taking photos for $10.
Michael Arden and Caren Manuel perusing the various tables.
Noticed Wicked photos going for $10 a piece signed, Spelling Bee cast signed Playbills for $10, The Producers selling a box o'props for $25, MTC was selling their front of house displays for $40.
Triton's table had a lot of $1 posters, from Urban Cowboy to Doubt to the Vespa DRS poster.
Rent's booth had OBC Playbills signed for $75, front of house displays and doors for $100, new posters signed by the OBC for $75, and Rent 10 benefit programs for $1.
My favorite was the Drowsy booth, which had Powerbars signed by Bob Martin.
I got:
Broadway on Broadway 2005 matted poster (20x2
signed by all of the performers for $40
4 Wicked photos for $40
a Marc Shaiman/Scott Wittman musical phrase from Fame Becomes Me for $20
4 Triton posters for $4
a Rent 10 program for $1
the 2006 Yearbook for $20
and a lot of Playbills for about $10 altogether

Posted: 9/24/06 at 2:08pmI got around $800 worth of merchandise for $75. I LOVE the flea market! Highlights for me included finding an original INTO THE WOODS windowcard for $1 and a Papermill FOLLIES windowcard (framed) for $20. I also picked up 15 cds for $40, around 20 other windowcards, various theater related books and an assortment of other various goodies. So all in all I'd say it was a good day. :)

Too much.
Both yearbooks, TONS of playbills, a few windowcards (including a beautiful one from the original ACL), and a bunch more. It was my first time and I LOVED it.

I spent way too much money at the TDF table trying to win tickets. Out of $85, I won twice. Got two tickets to Phantom, and a lousy CD.
I also bought one of the Broadway on Broadway 2005 signed posters for only $25.

$85 bucks for 2 Phantom tickets and a CD. Sad. For that much, you should at least have gotten tickets to a 2nd show.
I saw a lot of people upset over spending $100 and winning 5 cds.

Posted: 9/24/06 at 3:08pmAnd I almost spent $10 to get the one year subsciption to Theater Extras, but we didnt want to leave our credit card information with them. So when we asked for our money back (we already paid), the guy got all pissed off because he thought it was rude to take back a donation, so he threw my money at me. I thought that was obnoxious. I've donated at least $2,000 to BC/EFA over the years. It's not like I'm cheap and don't donate.

This is my fifth year in a row and it was the first time I got close enough to the Rent table to get costume stuff. With the movie nearing release this time last year it was nuts. So i finally got some funny (CHEAP) items there. Here's what I got altogether:
Rent - a Captain Crunch box prop $5
Rent - Mimi sleeves $5
Rent - Collins' "Papi" t-shirt $5
Rent - a duct tape wallet holiday gift to the cast from the producers $10
Avenue Q - a really gross soap with a phrase about green hair that may be too rude to quote here $2
ABC Daytime Salutes Broadway Cares concert DVD $25
Spelling Bee - autographed Jesse Tyler Ferguson pic $5
There was also an ABC Daytime table which was a pleasant surprise since I am a One Life To Live addict. Entered a raffle at their table to win tix to this year's concert. Also Bought a few headshots for $5 each.
That's the bulk of it. My mom always has great luck with the ticket raffle. This year she spent $35 and got a pair of tix for The Wedding Singer. Personally I think they should stick to raffling tickets only and leave the CDs out of it. The people winning CDs were getting pretty upset, especially since many where just sampler CDs. But hey - it's all for charity!
I didn't find as much as I usually do but still had a great time. I guess that's due mostly to the fact that a lot of shows I loved are now closed and the ones I'm looking forward to most aren't open yet or are too new (A Chorus Line, Les Miz, HIgh Fidelity.)
I hope they break last year's numbers!

Posted: 9/24/06 at 7:32pmstayed for 20 minutes or so, spent $60 bucks at the tkts table. Won Phantom tickets for December and Chicago tickets while usher is still in the show. Very excited. I felt the flea market was a bit sad and expensive this year though.. the tables weren't up to normal par.

it was right outside the helen hayes theatre. I really wanted some stuff from the phantom table but, they raised their prices. I realize it's for charity but, I laid down enough at the tkts table and didn't want to spend my metro card cash on ballet slippers

I thought the flea market was really dullsville this year. Compared to my usual $150-200, I spent a whopping $21.
Where were tables for The Wedding Singer, Spamalot and Chicago?? Such a missed opportunity for BCEFA.
