I still haven't seen it and am debating going at all, but if I do, it'll probably be either Sunday or Saturday's matinee(s). What time do you guys recommend I get there? How crowded has the rush been of late?
Rush is a joke... they never sell out. They never sell out of anything there....
but on the last day? who knows you might get everyone who has been waiting till the bitter end....

The last performance is on TDF. You can probably show up 5 minutes before curtain and get a ticket.
Edit: Just checked- it's no longer on TDF. It was a couple days ago, though.

I pass by the theater on my way to work and saw maybe 10(less?) people waiting before the box office opened this morning. So I think you'll be fine.

I don't know if this will help
but I remember was August was playing there the box office had a strict rule towards the end of the run of only selling 10 rush tickets per show (even tho the show was no where close to sold out) and they were ALWAYS in the rear mezz(according to the lady in the box office)
IDK if they are still that strict on rush
I attempted to rush twice on Tuesday. Both times the man at the box office said they were sold out of rush. I finally ended up using the discount code and was placed in the second to last row of the mezz. The boxes were not full and there were less than 10 people behind me so I doubt that 10 rush tickets were actually sold for that performance. The usher moved everyone in the rear mezz to the 4th and 5th rows of the mezz 10 minutes before curtain because only the first four rows were well sold.
The Music Box are notorious for that.^ Like when they told me I got the last seat for La Bete and the mezz was maybe 1/4 full. Happened to me with Superior Donuts, too.
Yeah, I usually go and wait before the box office opens. I just never got around to it for this play. But it was a ton of laughs (with more substance than I anticipated). I definitely recommend catching it this weekend.

I rushed Lend Me a Tenor a while back, and they put everyone on the extreme sides of the last row mezz. There was no one past the first 5ish rows, so people moved down.
I tried three times last week - not exactly when the box office opened but shortly after. Was told all three times they were sold out. I just figured they were more popular right now because the show is ending. Interesting to hear other perspectives.
Back in the fall, I walked up right before it started and got one.
My advice is to line up for the box office to open.
The show was pretty close to sold-out tonight.

Glad to hear that! I wish I could make it to the closing performance tomorrow, but I don't think it'll work out that I could get there early enough. Sad it is closing early, I really enjoyed this show and production.
I liked it a lot more than I thought I would.
I thought the show was kind of brilliant in the way that Mark's character is being criticized for only being able to write a show where he's the star - a "one man show" kind of thing - when essentially that's what the author wrote the show to be. I thought that was interesting. It was def. not an ensemble piece.
I thought the show was hella over designed and directed, but I guess that's what we expect from our Broadway shows? I mean that whole bit in the beginning with the over powering sound design and all the mirrored walls and smoke and sliding set pieces. It seemed a big big for such a small show.
Looks like I'll be missing this one. Oh well.

If you thought this production was over designed, you should have seen the original.
Really? What was it like?
I know I said it was over designed, but I actually appreciated that. I got really bored with the production and the set and the lighting after about 40mins. I wanted something to change or some new character to enter, etc. I mean, it's not a good play. The plot is incredibly boring, and when Mark Rylance was not on the stage it was just boring. Not discredit to everyone else, but it's basically a one man show with other people.

How are the sight lines in this theater from the side?
Will I be able to see anything without turning my head all the way to the side?
I'm looking to buy tickets to JERUSALEM and everything center is, well, not available.
Thanks!
Michael
